FITA, the Flooring Industry Training Association, is a leading provider of installer training for the commercial and domestic flooring markets, offering a wide range of courses to suit not only those already working in the sector who need further skills to widen their client base but also courses for the complete beginner just starting out in our industry. During the last 12 months FITA has launched a new Sheet Vinyl – Wetrooms Installation course for experienced commercial installers. FITA remains the ONLY provider for the Specialist Upskilling Programme (SUP) in the UK; The SUP is a fully CITB supported training and onsite assessment route to gaining an NVQ. FITA can also provide NVQs via the OSAT route. FITA has its own quality accreditation for commercial installers, the FITA QA Card, providing fitters with ongoing continual professional development (CPD) beyond an NVQ. Formed in 1979 the aim of the NICF is to promote excellence within the field of flooring installation; understanding and awareness of British Standards Codes of Practice for the installation of floorcoverings; and to provide assurance of workmanship to the public.
