The Floor is Yours
Carpet Recycling UK is a not-for-profit membership association supported by core funders - Cormar Carpets, Lifestyle Floors/Headlam, Desso, ege, Milliken, Balsan and Marlings – and members working throughout the supply chain to increase the reuse and recycling of carpet waste across the UK. Since 2008, it has focused on developing viable solutions to the 400,000 tonnes of carpet waste arising in the UK each year. Recycling capacity is increasing in response to more specialist facilities handling carpets in reuse, recycling and energy recovery processes. Specialist outlets across the UK contribute to these total diversion routes with end uses from equestrian surfaces to textile felts and underlay products. 2015 saw 125,000 tonnes of carpet reused, recycled or recovered for energy – a new record and testament to CRUK’s ongoing commitment and success. CRUK’s target is 60% landfill diversion by 2020.
Enquiries are welcomed from all types of organisations interested in finding new outlets for waste carpet.
