According to the HSE, the most common cause of injuries at work are slips and most of them are on a floor contaminated by water, grease or other substances. For this reason, safer flooring is key in industrial areas. From anti-slip surfaces to help reduce the risk of slips, trips and other accidents, through to the use of lineage and demarcation zones that signpost people safely around a site and improve workflow management, floors are key to the smooth and functional running of industrial areas. Flowcrete UK’s wide range of hard wearing floors are designed to withstand the intense conditions within large-scale industrial facilities to ensure that the safety aspects incorporated into the floor are maintained for an extended period of time. Other systems include Flowfresh, an antimicrobial flooring based on the use of silver, in partnership with Polygiene®
, that kills up to 99.9% of bacteria on contact. The combination of HACCP International
certification and ISO 22196 compliance proves that Flowfresh is uniquely tailored to meet the industry’s stringent hygiene demands.

UZIN provides the UK’s flooring professionals with innovative products and solutions. We offer a range of high quality and ecological smoothing underlayments for new installations or refurbishments in commercial, residential and industrial environments.
Due to increasing regulations regarding duty of care and allergies to latex, UZIN has developed UZIN L3 Gold, an ammonia and latex free smoothing compound. It is therefore suitable for use in sensitive environments and fulfils BREEAM and LEED requirements. It is also rapid drying and most floor coverings can be installed after 2 hours. UZIN L3 Gold can also be used under a DPM and can be applied over old adhesives residues such as bitumen, if hard and well bonded to the substrate. It can be used without a primer in most cases and has a high compressive strength of 25 N.
