ARDEX UK

Many problems which occur with floorcoverings are a result of moisture in the subfloor, so it is essential that the final floorcovering is protected from the passage of moisture from below. Prior to the installation of floorcovering, it is important to identify the type and level of moisture present in the subfloor, which usually results from either rising damp, due to the absence or breakdown of the structural damp proof membrane, or from residual construction moisture. ARDEX manufacture a range of moisture control products that protect the final floorcovering from both residual construction moisture, and rising damp, ensuring peace of mind and fast track flooring installations.

FLOWCRETE UK LTD The Flooring Technology Centre, Booth Lane, Moston, Sandbach, Cheshire CW11 3QF T: 01270 753000 F: 01270 753333 E: uk@flowcrete.com W: www.flowcrete.co.uk

Flowcrete UK’s damp proof membrane (DPM) systems are ideal for safeguarding moisture sensitive floor finishes against moisture vapour rising from the substrate, which if left unchecked could result in unsightly blistering, de-bonding and even a complete floor failure. A moisture tolerant primer such as Hydraseal DPM, Aqualock OneCoat or the epoxy modified cementitious, self-smoothing screed Flowcem between the concrete and final floor coating is an ideal way to prevent moisture entrapment ruining the floor’s aesthetics and functionality. The water and solvent free, epoxy resin, liquid applied system Hydraseal DPM can be applied onto concrete and cementitious screeds with a moisture content of up to 100% Relative Humidity. Aqualock OneCoat is used in a single coat application when the substrate is damp and normal Flowcrete primers cannot be used. Flowcrete UK can combine every element of a floor build up required by large- scale developments, including the DPM. By sourcing each element of the floor from Flowcrete the developer can rest assured that all the components will work together effectively for the long term.

A single coat of primer dries within 1 hour and the levelling compound is ready to accept most floor coverings within 2 hours, meaning the whole installation process takes less than 5 hours.
