We’re proud to be part of Britain’s rich textiles heritage. Penthouse Carpets has been a part of the British woollen textiles industry since our founder John Hawker made his first rug over 40 years ago.
We’re unusually proud of the carpets we create. Because our 80-strong workforce each owns a part of the company. When you choose to buy from Penthouse Carpets, you know that you’ve chosen to buy from a company that cares. We’re passionate about designing, making and selling high quality, beautiful carpets that set the standard for comfort, warmth and durability.
We don’t let our proud heritage get in the way of progress. We continue to research and develop our Rochdale-based factory and machinery to ensure consistently high standards in the carpets we produce. The experience, pride and expertise of our workforce mean you can be confident that your Penthouse Carpet is a carpet of exceptional quality.

Recofloor is the UK’s national vinyl flooring recycling scheme, established by leading flooring manufacturers Polyflor and Altro. The scheme’s cost-effective and efficient collection system has diverted more than 2,700 tonnes of waste vinyl flooring from landfill since its 2009 inception.
Recofloor has grown to 700-plus members across the supply chain, from flooring contractors to distributors and the self-employed who can use one of Recofloor’s nationwide drop-off sites to recycle waste vinyl. Clean post-installation vinyl and smooth uplifted vinyl is accepted as long as it meets specifications. Smooth and safety off-cuts are recycled back into new flooring products. Smooth uplifted flooring goes back into traffic products such as cones and sign bases.
The scheme’s flexibility and cost-effectiveness enables all supply chain sectors to engage in recycling. This reduces disposal costs and enables firms to demonstrate their green credentials, which in turn can help win new business.
