Checkatrade’s history
Checkatrade was created after a tornado hit the coastal town of Selsey, West Sussex. Many vulnerable residents fell victim to rogue traders, who sought to take advantage of the situation. An opportunity to protect consumers from these ‘cowboy builders’ was identified, and from there, Checkatrade was born.
From its humble origins, Checkatrade has grown to have over 450 employees in the UK, over 50,000 trade members and over two million consumer searches each month.
