News Sponsored by A Hard Day’s Work for Vaxinol

Vaxinol are commercial, industrial and residential cleaners specialising in disinfection and decontamination using electrostatic spray systems. They also offer carpet, upholstery and mattress cleaning.

Craig and Bradley’s business is busy misting and spraying, but they rely on the brand new Prochem SX2100 Steempro Powermax for the balance of the company’s day-to-day work.

Craig and his two colleagues put the hot water extractor to task recently when they were called in to clean auditorium upholstery in an old cinema. Built in 1939, the Plaza in Crosby closed the day it opened thanks of the Second World War, but following its reopening two weeks later offered full film programmes and live variety entertainment.

Liverpool’s most famous sons got special attention recently when city authorities upped their contingency for halting COVID-19’s spread.

John, Paul, George and Ringo (or their effigies, at least) got a proper spraying of Prochem’s D500 Microsan biocidal cleaner from Merseyside-based start-up sanitising specialist Vaxinol, fast-becoming the most famous go-to solution for Coronavirus treatment in the North West.

While The Beatles may have grabbed all the attention, for Craig Howard it was all very new. Former cleaning solutions salesman Craig and co-director Bradley Griffiths set up their cleaning business in April. Craig said: “Coronavirus had already kicked off so we moved fast to meet demand for deep cleans from the commercial sector, and the business just kept coming in.”

National award nomination for the FWC

British Cleaning Council (BCC) member, the Federation of Window Cleaners (FWC), has been nominated by one of its members for the Best Membership Association award at the National Association Awards (NAA).

Members of the cleaning and hygiene industry are being encouraged to vote for the association before the 17 December deadline. The NAA awards celebrate the hard work of associations, federations, chambers, societies and membership organisations across all sectors. Winners are expected to be announced on 22 April 2021.

Andrew Lee, Chairman and Safety Officer of the FWC, said: “I am delighted that the federation has been nominated for this award, it is fantastic to get this kind of recognition. All credit to Beryl and the staff for all the hard work they do, they always do the best they can for our members. This shows that we are doing something right.”

Beryl Murray, FWC General Secretary, added: “We are delighted to receive recognition and appreciation in this special way from one of our long-standing valued members.

16 | WHAT’S NEW?

Converted to a three-screen cinema in 1976 and saved from developers in the ‘90s, today it’s a community-funded venture with a main auditorium of 200 stall seats and 370 balcony seats with the other auditoria having 97 seats each. However, its plush blue fabric seats had got in a sorry state.

Craig reflected: “They were very grubby indeed. But we set to work, going back over the job to sort out any marks and spots, and two days later, thanks to the Steempro and Prochem’s solutions, we brought them back to life.”

Craig is Prochem fan, having attended a number of the company’s training courses and solutions, especially the D500 Microsan. This multi-surface biocidal cleaner for hard surfaces, floors, carpets and upholstery is effective against bacteria including MRSA and viruses including Hepatitis B, HIV and Coronavirus.

You really can’t get a better testimony than this.

“To be in with a chance we are asking people to vote for us before the deadline. Thank you in advance for your valued and supportive vote, which could help us gain this prestigious award.”

Kate Lawrence, a Director of Cleanbrite UK, made the nomination. She commented: “The benefits of being a member of the FWC are significant and it is very good value compared to other associations. The website is excellent, you can access current tender opportunities, health and safety advice, people are selling things; it feels like there is a proper community. The customer service is top class. Whenever there is an issue, Beryl and the team go out of the way to help. Everyone is so nice.

“I really hope lots of people vote for the FWC and they win. They deserve it.”

You can vote for the FWC before 3PM on 17 December at the website below.
