Industry appointments for hygiene

experts Christeyns Food Hygiene (CFH) is celebrating the appointments of two of its senior staff members, as they take on key roles in renowned industry associations.

Following the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology’s (SOFHT) Annual General Meeting and the end of the current Chair’s term, Peter Littleton, Technical Director at CFH, has been appointed as the new Chair, a post he will hold for the next two years.

SOFHT is a voluntary organisation set up in 1979 by a group of professionals to represent the interests and views of those involved in food hygiene across all disciplines. Peter will also continue in his role as Training Services Director.

Peter commented: “I am honoured to take over the position of Chair of a society with which I have been involved for

many years – especially at this time of challenge within our industry. It is crucial that everyone stays connected and up to date with technological and operational developments with respect to the safe production of food and beverages and SOFHT has a huge role to play.”

Also taking on a new Chair role is CFH’s National Sales Manager, Chris Bayliss. The Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry suppliers’ association (BFBi), has appointed Chris as National Chairman, commencing November and involving a two-year term.

Chris said: “The BFBi brings together representatives from across the industry offering an essential network that provides information and support. It is a privilege to take up this role and play a bigger part in the behind-the-scenes work that provides huge benefits to all companies in the supply chain. This work is even more important under the difficult circumstances we currently face.”
