99point9 Hygiene, producers of the only automated door handle disinfecting system approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has has announced the appointment of Keith Baker to the Company’s board.
Keith has over 50 years’ experience in the cleaning industry, and from 2008 to 2016 was Director of EMEA Services for ISSA – the worldwide cleaning industry association.
Keith has also been involved with the CHSA (the UK’s main association for suppliers to the industry) and helped with the introduction of accreditation schemes in the UK, designed to maintain high quality cleaning and hygiene standards throughout the marketplace.

Aberdeen-based Gold Star Cleaning has secured funding from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to ease cashflow pressures and secure the company’s future during the pandemic.
When COVID-19 restrictions were introduced, the cleaning and maintenance firm immediately diversified its offering to overcome the impact of coronavirus and safeguard jobs.
The funding package provided the business with additional security and peace of mind, allowing them to focus on servicing its clients wherever possible and following the strictest health and safety guidelines. It enabled them to retain all 150 staff members and assisted with cashflow for wages.
Established in 1980, Gold Star Cleaning – Aberdeen’s longest running family-owned firm – is run by Scott Willox and his wife Rachel following the couple’s takeover from Scott’s father in 2006.

Keith has worked for a number of international companies and founded his own company – Baker Hygiene & Health Care Supplies – in 1989, a highly successful and award- winning distributor. He started his career at Unilever in the industrial detergents division and has also held senior roles with other UK manufacturers.

Covering Aberdeen and north Scotland, Gold Star specialises in commercial and domestic cleaning, providing everything from carpet and upholstery cleaning, window and cladding services, builders clean and waste management to gardening and fire and flood damage cleans.
When lockdown was announced Scott and Rachel quickly put in place a number of schemes to help their elderly and vulnerable clients, offering initiatives like free shopping services.
