SURFACE PREPARATION KICKING OFF AT ANFIELD
Flooring Solutions prepared the substrate using Ultra Floor Prime IT AR and Level IT two.
Premier Flooring Solutions, specialists in contract flooring, recently installed a new floor within The Kop Stand of the Anfield stadium. Sub-floor preparation was required and Premier
The area, 1104m² in size, was initially primed with Ultra Floor Prime IT AR. An acrylic polymer emulsion primer, Prime IT AR is ideal for use over porous substrates such as concrete
and sand/cement screeds.
It prepares the surface, enhancing adhesion and sealing it. The bond strength of subsequent repair mortars, cement based levelling compounds
and similar cementitious underlayments to the surface will then be dramatically improved, enhancing durability.
Prime IT AR is easy to use and safe to apply, and boasts excellent surface penetration and a fast drying time.
To provide the perfect surface for fixing the chosen floor covering, an Amtico product, Ultra Floor Level IT two was applied by Premier Flooring Solutions’ team of installers at a depth of 5mm.
A traditional two-part, Level IT two combines excellent flow characteristics with strong adhesion properties through the inclusion of a synthetic latex
liquid component.
It has a set time of 2.5 hours and can be laid at depths from 2 - 10mm - covering an optimum 5.2m² at 3mm thickness.
The product’s formulation is free from ammonia, creating a very low odour material suitable for confined areas as well as open. In addition, the product is designed to compensate for shrinkage, is polymer modified and free of protein.
The stand has now reopened and is seating regularly, a number of the stadium’s 45,000 capacity.
