INDUSTRIAL FLOORING KEEPING THINGS ‘FRESH’

Flowcrete’s wide range of flooring systems, geared up for specific needs of the processing and manufacturing industries, will be showcased at easyFairs®

due to its ability to enable a new floor to be installed in refurbishment or new build projects with minimal disruption.

MAINTEC 2011.

Among systems being profiled by the leading UK flooring manufacturer are the two-hour flooring concept Flowfast and state- of-the-art hygienic flooring Flowfresh – which harnesses the natural power of silver to control germs at ground level.

Flowfast has become a global phenomenon across the flooring industry.

Allowing a facility to be ready for use just two hours after installation, its qualities have seen it specified for major industrial projects throughout the world,

The Flowfresh system has also proved its worth globally – particularly in food processing environments. The system utilises the natural power of silver to fight problems such as E-Coli and salmonella. In health-related areas, its ability to tackle C Diff and MRSA also makes it a popular choice.

Flowcrete is at stand number B18 at the Birmingham- based exhibition, which takes place between 29th March at the NEC.

and 31st

Alan Dean, Flowcrete’s Sales Director, said:

“For more than 25 years, Flowcrete has been providing

flooring systems that are geared up to the unique needs of the industrial sector. Our resin floors offer a durable and low maintenance choice – delivering fit-for-purpose systems that support the operations of manufacturing and processing environments.”

FLEXIDRY QUALIFY FOR LONDON 2012

The Athletes’ Village is one of the most significant urban developments in the UK and is part of a much wider regeneration project – the Stratford City Masterplan – a blueprint for a huge new piece of City in East London.

FlexiDry fast drying floor screed is currently being installed in five of the residential plots at the Athletes’ Village in varying depths and differing dry times. The ability to use one product on a project which offers different dry times is unique to the market place and means there is no need

for the design approval of different products; a simple site instruction can be sufficient.

The Athletes’ Village development is publicly owned with investment from the Olympic budget. The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) is overseeing the delivery of Athletes’ Village with Bovis Lend Lease appointed as the development and construction manager.

FlexiDry floor screed is currently adopted by most major contractors due to its

reliable dry times (with a choice of 3, 7, 14 and 21 days) which do not totally depend on a controlled temperature of 20°C and 50% RH. This gives project planners confidence and reliability removing the need for expensive surface damp-proof membranes.

Unlike some other fast drying floor screeds, FlexiDry screeds do not require curing under polythene for seven days immediately after they have been installed. Not only does this reduce the total drying time of the floor by a week,

it removes the associated health and safety risks giving rise to trips and falls. This also means a second visit to site to clear the polythene from the area is not necessary saving costs and the environmental impact of the disposal of the polythene.
