Whistl appoints directors Whistl, has promoted Natalie Sehnal to business development director for its fulfilment and contact services division. Natalie has been with the business 18 years, having joined Spark Response which Whistl acquired in 2018. Sehnal will play a key role in delivering Whistl’s ambitious growth plans in the fulfilment and contact centre markets which has seen significant growth in recent years driven by the online shopping boom as well as companies seeking flexible outsourced contact centre support. The business has also promoted Dave Twiddle to the board position of operations director for mail and parcels.
THG strengthens its board resources
THG has appointed a number of independent special advisors to support its board. These include Damian Saunders a former senior audit partner at Deloitte Manchester, Adam Waller a senior private business partner for PwC and senior partner in its Manchester office, Alan McGill partner with PwC, London who leads its sustainability reporting, measurement and assurance practice. THG’s group CEO and executive chairman said: “I am delighted to announce the establishment of our advisory panel with the first three appointments made to provide additional counsel and support to THG’s board sub-committees. This is a transformational step for THG and we look forward to making additional appointments over the medium term.”

Watches of Switzerland Watches of Switzerland appointed Ian Carter as its chairman, effective 1st November. Carter replaces Dennis Millard who stood down as the company’s AGM this week.
58 Primark appoints
trading director Primark has appointed Topshop and Topman global sourcing director for menswear Jon Bennett as its new trading director for menswear. He will replace Lynne Walker who is moving to a new role within the retail business leading its Primark Cares development. Bennett who has also held senior buying roles with F&F, Next and River Island has been with Arcadia Group since 2012.
Very Group appoints
digital CX director The Very Group will welcome former team member Paul Hornby back to its business in the role of digital customer experience director effective January 2021. Hornby had originally joined Shop Direct in 2006 and had held a number of roles including those of head of eCommerce and head of digital transformation, leaving in 2018 to take up the eCommerce director role at Matalan.
New CTO for Emma
Emma – The Sleep Company has announced the appointment of Andreas Westendoerpf as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The experienced technologist plans to establish a new IT platform to support the Frankfurt-based company in becoming the leading international Sleep Tech company. Andreas took on his role effective 1 October 2020. Before joining Emma, Andreas worked as CTO and managing director of Engel & Voelkers Technology GmbH for three years, where he was responsible for the development and restructuring of the group’s internal tech company. Prior to this, he worked for the online retailer Zalando and spent almost ten years in international management consulting, most notably at KPMG.
Boohoo names responsible
sourcing director Reeling from the scandal surrounding alleged malpractice within its Leicester supply chain, Boohoo has appointed Andrew Reaney as its responsible sourcing director. It is understood that a team is being put in place to tackle environmental and social governance issues.
Very Group names
chief data officer The Very Group has appointed Steve Pimblett as its chief data officer. Pimblett joins the online retailer from Wejo and had previously held senior roles with Betsson Group and Moneysupermarket. He will report to CTO Andy Burton in his new post.
ArrowXL appoints
new director Two-person delivery company ArrowXL has appointed a director of people services. Nicola Waring joins with a remit to ensure that the business is able to attract and retain the best people by driving engagement and making colleague development a key priority. Charlie Shiels, CEO at ArrowXL said: “As we continue to grow it is vital that we have the right people in place to support the business, our people and our customers. Nicola’s first- class HR skills and comprehensive operational understanding means she will be a real asset to the team.”

Ultimate Products Ultimate Products co-founder and non-executive director Barry Franks is to become the company’s President making way for new board appointments. Former Boden CEO Jill Easterbrook and former PwC private equity leader Christine Adshead join the Ultimate Products board as non-executive directors with immediate effect.
