Bringing it all together The initial working party meetings should have established the how, when and who by for each topic.
In quite a few cases, the topic may well just be a short restatement of requirements, and a review and sign-off of the current procedures.
But the stand-out area where it is likely some work will need to be done is in Systems Interfaces. The scale of this will depend on the current level of interfaces available against those needed.
If a third party is required to implement systems changes or configurations they will need to be consulted and the work scheduled.
So, at the first Progress Review Meeting be sure to have all the realistic timelines for each task together, and make sure sufficient time has been built in for systems testing end to end, whether using newly developed interfaces or not.
Encourage participants to vocalise any concerns and discuss potential blockers openly. Do your own risk assessment on these issues and be prepared to accept, or even suggest, a delay to the original go-live date if necessary.
The second and possibly final Progress Review Meeting should be the sign-off for go-live. All procedures are in place, all systems tested end to end.
The go-live day is here! The excitement is extreme so don’t miss out on the big day.
Buy lots of doughnuts or something and get down there and join in. Mix in with the front line and show your appreciation – you and your business will never be forgotten.
