non-executive director Leading online fashion retailer, Boohoo, has announced the appointment of Shaun McCabe as independent non-executive director, with immediate effect. McCabe will take on the role of chair of the audit committee and sit on the group’s remuneration and nomination committees. He is currently chief financial officer of Trainline plc and a non-executive director at AO World plc where he is a member of its audit and remuneration committees. Prior to joining Trainline plc, he held the roles of international director at ASOS and chief financial officer for Amazon Europe. eBay UK appoints chief
marketing officer eBay UK has announced the appointment of Eve Williams as chief marketing officer, with immediate effect. In her role, Williams will be responsible for all of eBay UK’s marketing activity creating impactful brand campaigns to champion the 300,000 businesses on the platform. Ms Williams joins eBay UK from ASOS, where she was global brand director, responsible for the company’s marketing and customer programmes, creative, content, consumer comms and social output. During her seven years at ASOS, she led efforts to drive acquisition of new customers, while also playing an integral role in supporting initiatives which created opportunities for new talent.
Selfridges appoints Andrew
Keith as managing director High-end retailer, Selfridges & Co, has appointed Andrew Keith as managing director. Keith has been president of Asia’s premier department store, Lane Crawford, since 2011. During his time at the helm, he oversaw the business’ continuing expansion into mainland China, growing sales and nurturing talent. He succeeds Simon Forster, who left Selfridges in February. Anne Pitcher was appointed as interim managing director while a new candidate was sought. Commenting on the appointment, Anne Pitcher said: “I am delighted that Andrew Keith is to become our new managing director for Selfridges & Co and will join us in February 2021. Fortnum & Mason appoints
chief executive officer Fortnum & Mason has announced the appointment of Tom Athron as chief executive officer. Athron joined the business on 1 December allowing for a month’s handover from Ewan Venters, who leaves Fortnum’s in January 2021. An experienced retail executive, Athron joins from MATCHESFASHION. com, where he has served as chief operating officer since May 2018. As COO he was responsible for scaling the British business globally, and leading the eCommerce, logistics, customer experience and studio teams. Prior to this he spent 12 years at the John Lewis Partnership where he held roles, including that of group development director, trading director and chief financial officer of Waitrose. Mr Athron also founded JLP Ventures, the innovation unit set up to identify and drive new growth opportunities and creative partnerships across the group’s operations.

New CFO for Naked Wines Shawn Tabak joined Naked Wines as its CFO on December 7th, stepping into the shoes of James Crawford who is now in the UK managing director role at the D2C wine business. Tabak will be based at Naked Wines US headquarters. “I’m delighted that Shawn will be joining Naked and am excited about partnering with him to deliver the next stage in Naked’s growth,” said group CEO Nick Devlin. Additionally his understanding of the US market will be highly valuable and recruiting this role in the USA, our largest market, an another step in our transition from British start-up to a US-led global pureplay.”
Superdry appoints interim
chief financial officer Fashion retailer, Superdry, has announced the appointment of Benedict Smith as interim chief financial officer. The company’s previous CFO, Nick Gresham, stepped down from the role last month. Smith has 18 years of experience as CFO of a wide range of both quoted and privately-owned businesses, most recently serving as Interim CFO at Dennis Publishing Group. Peter Williams, chairman of the Board of Superdry, said: “I am delighted we have secured an Interim CFO with such extensive experience in senior finance roles in the retail sector. This is an important step in giving Superdry leadership and stability in a critical area of the business during an important time.”
CHS appointed new MD and Chair
CHS, the Dorset based full-service agency announced two new appointments to its leadership team. After over 25 years at the agency, current MD Steve Keats has moved to the new role of chair of the board, as he hands the running of the agency over to Chris Southgate. Southgate joined the agency in 2009 to lead a growing digital team and has since been instrumental in winning pitches for key client accounts including HSBC, Allianz and Mastercard.
