Atterley appoints strategic adviser Online fashion marketplace Atterley, which is mid-way through a crowdfunding campaign with Crowdcube, has named former British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman as a strategic adviser. Atterley has enjoyed a 250 per cent uplift in its order levels since lockdown, enabling independent boutiques to generate much needed income. Shulman commented: “I admire the way that Atterley works to support the independent boutiques that are such a crucial and enjoyable part of our fashion chain. When online and bricks-and-mortar can work hand in hand it’s a winning outcome for both the retailer and the customer. I look forward to seeing more people taking part in the
Atterley.com experience and accessing the ranges of well-priced, well- sourced fashion.”
Vansteenkiste relinquishes CEO role Having held the Debenhams CEO post since August, Stefaan Vansteenkinste now returns to a consultancy role for the troubled department store chain business. In administration for a second time, administrator FRP Advisory is expected to take the lead together with Steve Cook and Mike Hazell, Debenhams’ managing director and CFO respectively. It is not yet known if or when the business will seek a permanent CEO or promote a member from its current team to the role. 17 Debenhams stores were confirmed to be closing permanently, with hundreds of jobs slashed, as the business re-opened 90 of its stores from June 15th.

coming period. Sephton commented: “On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Klaus for his hard work and service over the past two years. I know I speak for all of the team at Nisbets. Nisbets is a strong and stable company. With the hospitality and catering industry feeling the brunt of the current crisis, like everyone else, we have had to adapt to the current market environment. This proactive step supports that effort, ensuring we can continue business as usual”.
Rico Back loses Royal Mail role Royal Mail CEO Rico Back has been pushed to step down from the role following altercations with the CWU, alongside a drop in Royal Mail’s letter volumes and falling share price. Back’s appointment and agreed terms had attracted considerable unease when first announced in 2018. Since taking up the role in June 2018, he had divided his time between working part of the time London and the rest from his home in Switzerland, where he has remained since the Covid-19 pandemic erupted. This in itself had caused concerns as front line staff of Royal Mail have been expected to work as usual during the period. While a formal search for a permanent CEO to replace Back is actioned, Stuart Simpson will serve as interim CEO with chairman Keith Williams taking a more hands-on role.
