Incubators, Freezers & Cooling Equipment

New Shaker-incubator with Advanced Cooling Capability

The ES-20/80C shaker-incubator from Biosan for biotechnological and pharmaceutical laboratories is a professional category equipment. The typical applications include – microbial and cell culture cultivation, protein expression, solubility studies, general mixing, as well as other various applications in the fields of biology and chemistry. The unit is equipped with a newly developed triple eccentric mechanism for platform motion that provides supreme balancing characteristics, superior reliability and quiet operation. The achieved stability of the unit during vigorous mixing allows for stacking installation of up to 3 units which enables to save space.

The new display and easy to use user interface provide a clear and intuitive control of parameters and allow data logging, storage and display over time. Additional features, such as out of balance sensor and automatic thermostat failure detection make this shaker-incubator an advanced and safe product. Bluetooth connectivity to PC allows for data management, data logging, parameter control and profiling in a dedicated software that can be requested separately.

A combination of an electric heating element and a built-in heat-resistant brushless fan provide precise temperature distribution inside the chamber up to +80°C. Cooling of the chamber is provided by additional Peltier modules allowing to cool until 12.5°C below the ambient temperature. Additionally, an excellent sample temperature uniformity of ± 0.2°C at 37°C is achieved. The inner chamber is made of stainless steel. State-of-the-art motor, thermal insulation materials and parameter PID-control decrease the energy consumption and make the shaker- incubator highly energy efficient despite its relatively large size.

Available accessories range from dedicated platforms for different capacity flasks to universal platform with optional fixation clamps, test tube racks and sticky mats. More information online: ilmt.co/PL/24VE

New Laboratory Freeze Dryer Operates with Natural Gases

LyoQuest Arctic is a new generation of environmentally friendly laboratory freeze dryers that operate with natural gases. Developed by Telstar, the innovative bench- top laboratory freeze dryer integrates pre-freezing, primary drying and secondary drying processes avoiding the use of conventional HFC or HFO cooling gases.

The new freeze-dryer, which operates with natural gases composed by R-170 (Ethane) & R-290 (Propane), guarantees the long-term compliance with increasingly restrictive International regulations (like F-gas). In fact, since 2015 high GWP (Global Warming Potential) gases are not allowed except for very low temperatures applications below -50ºC.

The global warming potential (GWP) of a gas is a value that measures global warming and, specifically, it measures the warming impact from the emission of one unit of a certain gas when compared to one unit of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is the reference gas and is thus assigned a value of 1. Natural gases integrated in LyoQuest Arctic provide Zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potencial) besides very a low GWP (under 6) in contrast with higher than 3000 GWP of current HFC’s. Even the new HFOs gases under development to replace them have a GWP higher than 1500.

LyoQuest Arctic combines flexibility with performance into a single unit so that users can carry out complete cycles using different containers (vials, trays, ampoules, and flasks) with the same piece of equipment. In addition to being versatile, it also enables users to create recipes that include time, temperature and vacuum control via its integrated PLC control system. The innovative design of this freeze dryer results in an extremely compact unit with large condensation capacity of up to 8 litres. The freeze-dryer’s ice condenser includes an automatic defrosting function for quick and easy de-icing. Furthermore, its design enables many product formats to be pre-frozen in the unit, without the need for an additional freezer.
