Pumps, Valves & Liquid Handling
Update Electronic Pipettes Independently Without a Service Technician
With the Eppendorf Pipette Software Update Tool, Eppendorf introduces a new way for its liquid handling customers to update the software of their electronic pipettes or multi-dispensers on their own (without a service technician), for free and in just a few minutes.
The new tool enables electronic pipette users to always stay up-to-date with the latest software improvements and new features for their Eppendorf Xplorer®, Xplorer plus, Xplorer plus Move It® pipettes and/or Multipette® E3 and E3x multi-dispensers.
To perform an update, customers just need a Windows PC with internet connection, a micro-USB cable and the Eppendorf pipette or multi- dispenser to be updated. When executing the Software Update Tool, it connects to the internet and checks for the latest software update on the Eppendorf servers. If an update is available, it can be carried out in just a few minutes.
The latest software improvements for Eppendorf pipettes include an improved battery capacity measurement, improvements in the read & write function of user settings and new features for the Eppendorf Xplorer pipette line-up.
Details and download of the new Eppendorf Pipette Software Update Tool with step-by-step instructions on the Eppendorf website. More information online:

56052pr@reply-direct.com High-speed Chemical Resistant Diaphragm Pumps Introduced
Wiggens is pleased to introduce the C-series of chemical resistant diaphragm pumps which are suitable for use in in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and other industries, such as suction filtration, vacuum distillation, rotational evaporation, vacuum concentration, centrifugal concentration and solid phase extraction, to name a few.
C-series pumps are driven by diaphragm, with no additional belt-driven transmission, which eliminates the need of lubricant, regular oil and maintenance. All wetted parts of C series pump are made of PTFE which is ideal for extremely aggressive/corrosive gases and vapours. The sealing system provides reduced leakage rates for improved ultimate vacuum (1mbar).
Wiggens continue to extend their line of diaphragm pumps and apply new technologies to this series. An extra powerful motor drives multi-stage pump head, while ensuring the degree of vacuum, with a faster pumping speed. This means it can be used in larger systems, such as pilot reactors, industrial rotary evaporators and the semiconductor industry. The maximum pumping speed can up to 145L/min.
To vacuum a large system, the customer requirement is usually the need to reach a high vacuum faster while being able to stabilise at set values. Wiggens knows it is impossible for a high-speed vacuum pump to be just controlled by a solenoid valve, but the use of a variable frequency motor drive pump head can be easily achieved.
These frequency conversion vacuum pumps can reduce noise in the laboratory and extend the service life. To learn more about vacuum experiments, please contact Wiggens.

ilmt.co/PL/VrDy OEM Pumps For Liquid Filling Machines
OEM pumps from Premier Control Technologies offer a wide range of fl ow rates perfect for accurate and repeatable fl uid dispensing including shear sensitive media.
Liquid fi lling machines are used to fi ll packaging containers with a fi xed amount of liquid. They can be classifi ed into three types depending on their methodology; vacuum fi lling machines, pressurised fi lling machines and atmospheric pressure fi lling machines. Sub-division can be based on their motion; linear or rotary, plus there are variations dependent upon whether they are single- or multi-head. This array of solutions allows them to serve a wide range of applications from the food & beverage industry (milk, juice or water) through pharmaceuticals (sterile fl uids, medicines, vaccines) cosmetics (skin care liquids, detergents, sanitisers) to even the chemical industry (corrosives, abrasives and irritants).
Longer Peristaltic Pumps have a wide range of fl ow rates that can easily be controlled. Repeatable dispensing accuracy is achieved by precise speed control and calibration. The low shear and gentle pumping action ensures that biological substances will not be damaged during transfer. Because of the mechanical set-up, the fl uid only comes into contact with the bore of the tubing thus eliminating the risk of contamination between the pump and fl uids. A peristaltic pump together with the selection of the correct tubing can be used to transfer, dose or fi ll corrosive and/or abrasive fl uids. In line with the variability of the applications, the Dispensing & Filling System can be confi gured between 4 to 32 peristaltic pump heads, to achieve fi ll volumes of between 0.2ml/s and 48ml/s with a dispensing accuracy of up to ±0.5%. The back suction function eliminates droplet formation during the fi lling process.
Contact Premier Control Technologies to develop a fl uid transfer system or component that meets all your technical requirements, on budget and on time. More information online:

54836pr@reply-direct.com How to Choose the Best Pipette Tip for Your Application
Pipette tips come in a whole range of varieties – non-sterile, sterile, filtered, unfiltered, long, short, low retention, wide bore and more – and there are many factors to deliberate when choosing the right tip, from the property of the liquid being pipetted to the type of application. Integra Biosciences understands the intricacies and implications of choosing the correct tip, and offers a range of high quality options to meet any need.
The first thing to consider when choosing your pipette tip is the required task. For example, sterile tips are essential for cell-based applications, and filtered tips are ideal for pipetting liquids that may contaminate or damage your pipette, such as radioactive or infectious samples. But quality, fit and stable supply are also important factors to ensure your lab work remains uncompromised. Low quality or poorly fitting tips can negatively impact the reproducibility of your results, meaning that you will need to repeat experiments, wasting valuable time and money.
Integra’s GripTips are designed to fit the company’s broad range of pipettes perfectly, and are manufactured under strictly controlled conditions, backed by the VIAPURE statement of quality. And for continuous peace of mind, Integra promises customers a consistent and reliable supply, making sure your research continues without untimely interruptions due to lack of labware. So every time you start your lab work, take a moment to ensure you are selecting the correct tip to maximise the quality and reproducibility of your experiments.
