The Rapidox 2100-FGA Forming Gas Analyser
The Rapidox 2100-FGA is the latest analyser from Cambridge Sensotec. It is a special variant of the popular Rapidox 2100 keeping many of its features and technology being developed specifically for use in forming gas applications. The Rapidox 2100-FGA zirconia oxygen analyser not only allows fast and accurate oxygen analysis down to extremely low levels but also measures the thermodynamic H2
O dewpoint.
What is forming gas? Forming gas is a mixture of Hydrogen (H2
) and an inert gas, usually Nitrogen (N2
). It is used as an atmosphere gas for various applications, particularly those in the metal heat treatment industry and solder reflow industry.
Forming gas can be used to remove oxidisation from a variety of metals, effectively bringing oxygen and moisture from out of the surface. Once this has been achieved, the metal can be solidified and made stronger. After the process, what you are left with is water, which is why the dewpoint reading is so important.
As mentioned, the Rapidox 2100-FGA has the convenience and ease of use of the Rapidox 2100 analyser as well as some of the features. Features specific to forming gas were implemented in key areas to ensure fast and accurate oxygen analysis is guaranteed, every time.
The new Rapidox 2100 Forming Gas Analyser.
Developed specifically for use in forming gas applications. This zirconia oxygen analyser not only allows fast and accurate oxygen analysis down to extremely low levels but also measures the thermodynamic H2O dewpoint.
One convenient new feature introduced is the hot swop sensor. This enables the user to swap over pre-calibrated sensors locally without the aid of a PC, and without having to send your analyser back to us. The addition of the ‘hot swop sensor’ is a feature we are proud of.
Whilst on the sensor, the zirconia sensor inside the FGA has been modified so the measurement range is extended down to 10E-30
ppm O2 . This allows the analyser to
cover the ultra-low oxygen partial pressures in forming gas, as results in this process can be extreme.
Designed for forming gas applications • Ultra O2 measurement down to 10E-30 Thermodynamic H2O dewpoint • Alarm relay circuits • OLED display
ppm
Verified at Cambridge University • Pure hydrogen mode • Easy user calibration • Type K thermocouple 0-5V and 4-20mA • Modbus RTU language protocol • Pin code protection
