perfect solution for IAQ and HVAC applications Acme is introducing a completely new generation of gas detection control systems. As a leading manufacturer of HVAC IAQ detection and control systems since the early 1970s, Acme has looked at the trend towards the integration of Internet of Things functionality in consumer products and is bringing that capability and fl exibility to the HVAC marketplace.
The fl agship product will be the Multi-Gas Monitoring System (MGMS) consisting of a modular system with a controller containing IoT communication as well as industry standard BACnet protocols. Add-on modules include relay boards, analogue output capability, with no limit on the number of modules that can be included. Acme offers client the fl exibility to enclose these modules in a classic control panel with an integrated display or can use Bluetooth communication via a phone-based app to communicate with the controller. Ethernet capability will allow the integration with building automation systems and provides for remote visualization of current conditions in the space.
Confi guring the system, including analogue or relay fan control logic, is entirely software driven. What used to be a complex system of hard-wired controls is replaced by an intuitive user interface where each sensor location can be associated with a relay, bank of relays or grouped into a proportional analogue or proportional voltage signal. Control logic can be modifi ed at any time if required. The Acme MGMS is future proof since modules will be upgradable as new communications standards migrate into the HVAC space that offer greater connectivity and data reporting.
Data storage and modelling will be possible using a monthly billing model for clients who want to gather information on the pollution in the space and use that information to maintain a healthy building environment and reduce energy consumption.
Gas monitors in the space will offer quick-change sensor modules, wired and wireless sensor modules with the possibility of up to ten sensors in one compact enclosure as well as particulate monitoring down to 1-micron particles. Acme is confi dent that it is offering the most advanced, fl exible and future-proof gas-detection and control system on the market today. New regulations such as the European “Waste Incineration BAT Conclusions” call for long-term sampling of “dioxin”. An isokinetic sample is taken from the duct and dioxin is trapped in an absorbing material. Special material has to be used and the sampler, which effectively is an advanced pump, needs to be controlled.

After a set sampling period, which can range from hours up to eight weeks, the container is swiftly exchanged for a new one and then sent to a laboratory for analysis of the dioxin content, while the new container allows continued sampling. The DX100 is also offered with an option to capture CO2
. This is used to determine the percentage of fossil CO2 emissions. This can be of major interest to plant operators burning mixed fuels.
Based on the isokinetic sampling method, the DX100 meets the requirements of the standard EN 1948-1.
