Ultra-Efficient, Low Flow Aspirator
Analyser Systems: “To Pump or Not to Pump…”
In the design of continuous analyser systems many strategic decisions must be made to achieve optimal convergence of performance, cost and reliability. For those systems that have low or negative pressure, a choice between a mechanical pump or eductor must be made. Choosing to use a pump will necessarily undermine two of the three legs - cost and reliability. Mechanical pumps have significantly higher installation and capital cost, especially when exotic metals or hazardous areas are involved. Moving parts lead to decreased reliability and increased maintenance.
Normally, an eductor is a better choice. Advantages include: Simple design; Reliability – no moving parts; No maintenance required; Intrinsically safe; Low cost; Easy to install; Compact; Powered by air, nitrogen, process fluid, water etc; Tolerant of liquid droplets and small particles; Operates at elevated discharge pressures, e.g. flare return; and Used for sampling, mixing, vacuum, venting.
Always select a mini-eductor with high efficiency, such as the Motiv-Air-Torr, that delivers higher vacuum and sample flow at lower motive pressure, saving on operating cost.
Introducing the new ultra-efficient, low flow aspirator that surpasses the performance of any standard aspirator.
Conveniently incorporated into stainless steel tube fitting Tee’s, the Micro-Flo is easily integrated, leak-free, into an analyser or monitor system. Remote sampling, drawing low pressure process streams and sampling slightly negative pressure process or stack gases is a ‘breeze’ with the Micro-Flo system. These ultra-efficient aspirators use <5% of the motive air of standard aspirators yet are able to educt samples at a flow rate that will fulfil the majority of sample system requirements.

Jacobs Process Analytics, Inc. Process Analytic Services & Solitions
Venturi Eductors, Aspirators and Debubblers
Jacobs Process Analytics - the leading manufacturers of Venturi Eductors. Used as Gas aspirators, Air aspirators, Liquid aspirator and Venturi pumps
Simple design with no moving parts Very low cost-of-ownership Easy to install
Very low or no maintenance Can overcome back pressure
Inexpensive replacement for pumps ….. and they are also Intrinsically Safe
Eductors (also know as air pumps, ejectors & aspirators)
Uses for Industrial aspirators, air aspirators are used all over the world in: Gas & oil, petrochemical Pulp & paper Food industries Power industries
for process monitoring, analysis & environmental applications.
The Micro-Flo aspirator offers ease of operation, simple and inexpensive installation, elimination of maintenance and cost savings in capital and continuous operation.
• EASE OF OPERATION: For single point analyser systems (e.g. area monitor, NDIR, oxygen measurement, etc) this is a ‘set and forget’ application. A sample flow of 1 LPM is produced with the air pressure set at 10-30 psig.
• SAVINGS: Air or gas usage is <5% that of standard aspirators. The savings exceed one million SCF of instrument air annually. The Micro-Flo can be used to mix process samples with air at a closely controlled ratio, minimizing the amount of consumed process gas when used as the motive force (e.g. natural gas pipeline).
• IT’S SAFE: Intrinsically safe: no electrical circuits
• NO MAINTENANCE: No moving parts, no maintenance
• SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE INSTALLATION: Made inside a standard ¼” (and 6mm) tubing Tee. Easily integrated into any sampling system. Choose your fitting connection: compression, NPT
