Air Monitoring - UK Focus xxiii Industrial Enclosures are Indestructible Even in Outdoor Use

The innovative and versatile Bocube industrial enclosures, available from Phoenix Mecano, are trendsetters. Few individual parts make for simple assembly, and the absence of injected metal parts combined with construction from a single type of plastic make recycling easy. In addition, because of their weather resistance, polycarbonate UL 94 V0 Bocube enclosures are especially suitable for outdoor use.

Electronic enclosures are not only used indoors, where they are offered protection from the elements. They are often exposed to wind and weather, for example when used in agriculture, traffi c management or the fi eld of renewable energies. This is where the polycarbonate UL 94 V0 Bocube enclosures really demonstrate their abilities. Wind, weather, changing temperatures and, above all, ultraviolet radiation cannot affect this material, which also has excellent mechanical characteristics. All this ensures that the electronics inside are protected against the effects of weather.

High levels of protection against weathering – the wind, weather, changing temperatures and above all ultraviolet radiation cannot affect Bocube enclosures made of polycarbonate UL 94 V0

Mathias Bünte, BOPLA’s product manager, explains: “The material’s weather resistance was confi rmed on the basis of normative test procedures which were carried out on the UL 746C. This allows us to provide our customers with an exact defi nition of the parameters and restrictions in respect of outdoor use.”

Bocube enclosures are made of the fl ame-retardant or self-extinguishing materials ABS and polycarbonate UL 94 V0, and impress users with their uncomplicated assembly and unique range of features and components. 19 enclosure sizes and two lid and colour variants make it possible to create 114 different standard enclosures for electronic components. Patented hinged catches in many different colours – including crystal clear and translucent green – permit visual matching to the customer’s corporate design colours, and also offer the option of creating interesting lighting effects by mounting LED’s beneath the catches. The lids have an area which is recessed by 2 mm for the fi tting of input devices such as membrane keypads (exception: B 080805, 0.5 mm). They can be opened to the left or right, as required, which makes it easy to assemble and access the electronics.

The enclosures provide space for scored PCBs and rectangular mounting panels which can be installed in both the lid and the base. Rectangular front panels can be fi tted in the base by means of distance bolts. Generously-sized free areas guarantee suffi cient space for the installation of cable glands, D-sub connectors and other connectors.

Portable Ambient Air Samplers Comply with EN12919

Matts Monitors Ltd. are pleased to announce the launch of a full range of ambient air samplers. The affordable Tecora Delta Mk 2 is compliant with environmental monitoring standards (EN12919). The Delta Mk 2 is the evolution of the Delta battery sampler. This new version has been improved with a battery/power system and integrated with a dry gas meter (DGM).

The DGM version incorporates a double control for fl ow and volume. This allows a more effective sampling performance: this comparison is unique for portable equipment resulting in higher accuracy in collecting data. Compared to the original version, the Delta Mk 2 comes with a built in power supply system which allows battery charging and instrument running using a mains power lead. The Delta Mk 2 is robust and compact with a carry handle making transportation and handling an easy process.
