Gas Detection 13 Move to New Facility Allows for Expansion of Gas Sensing Company

Edinburgh Sensors (UK), a global supplier of high performance gas sensing technology, today announced plans to expand with a move to new facilities. Edinburgh Sensors has seen a marked increase in interest from system integrators involved in a number of different markets including process control, waste management, total organic carbon monitoring and horticulture to name just a few. The new facility in Livingston UK boasts an extended production area and additional offi ce space for further expansion.

The building opening celebrations were led by Mr. Richard Lo, President and CEO of Techcomp and Mr. Mark Vosloo, CEO of Edinburgh Instruments. Mr. Vosloo commented “Expansion was a necessary and major step for the company. With growing interest in our gas sensors the move allows us to increase our production capacity whilst

continuing to offer highly skilled technical support and service for our high performance products.”

Edinburgh Sensors gas sensors have, over 30 years, built an enviable reputation as suppliers of fast, accurate and reliable instrumentation designed to withstand harsh environments and provide real time information. Measurement options from ppm to 100% of CO, CO2

The Sensitron’s SMART S-IR is an innovative concept in the gas detection for the Premium Safety market. The detector uses a hybrid technology sensor (Pel+IR) installed in a single head. The behaviour of the sensors is constantly monitored by a microprocessor and the incoming signals are compared in order to supply an output corresponding to the worst situation revealed in the shortest time: it guarantees the highest accuracy with false alarm conditions close to zero.

Other important features of the SMART S-IR are: non-intrusive calibration; 3 wires 4-20mA output with a further three relay output and HART communication module (optional).

The SMART S-SS and the SMART S-MS belong to the same family. The SMART S-MS is a double-head detector and two different sensors (Pel-IR; IR-IR; Pel-Electrochemical) can be installed on it.

It guarantees two different independent outputs that can be compared. The detectors are SIL 2(3) certifi ed in compliance with EN50402/EN61508 part 1 to 7. Sensitron invite readers to visit their web site for more details on the company and their products.

DD-Scientifi c (UK) have launched a new range of ammonia sensors. The sensors are available in both

the GS+4 (20mm diameter) and GS+7 (32mm diameter) range. The sensors cover a range of 0-1000ppm ammonia. the new ammonia sensor family are also all unbiased ensuring

suitable use for both portable and fi xed gas detection applications. 31733pr@reply-direct.com

Reliable - Reproducible - Cost Effective Gas Sensors

DD-Scientifi c offer a high quality range of toxic and oxygen gas sensors.

Our range of sensors are designed using the latest technology to ensure the highest quality standard possible, and all backed with great honest and open customer service.

Sensitron (Italy) has developed the innovative Hybrid gas detector, ATEX and SIL2 (3) approved. Among the gas detection instrumentation for tough environments an innovative alternative is now available, which compares the signals received from two different sensors (Pel+IR) installed in a single head setting the improper alarms apart.
