WWEM Preview - UK Focus iii
The First Family of Analytical Sensors that No Longer Require an External Transmitter
Water Workshops at WWEM
Pulsar’s workshop “Accuracy or repeatability? What is needed when monitoring flow from a wastewater pump station?” will discuss their Flow Pulse flow monitor and how Dwr Cymru Welsh Water have installed over 160 sensors, with project savings of an estimated £1.5million. Pulsar will be exhibiting their pump control, level, flow, open channel flow and sludge blanket level measurement instrumentation on their stand 113 which will aid water companies towards their quest for compliance and TOTEX savings in AMP 6. At WWEM Pulsar will launch their new innovation which combines level/ flow measurement, pump controller and RTU into one economically sized controller.

KROHNE will showcase their comprehensive range of analytical solutions on stand 11 of WWEM the “must attend” event of the year for Water/ Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring professionals. KROHNE has introduced the SMARTSENS range of analytical sensors marking a turning point in analysis. As the first family of 2-wire, loop powered analytical sensors incorporating integrated transmitter technology,
SMARTSENS sensors significantly reduce the risk of failures along the chain from sensor to the process control system whilst easing the handling of analytical sensors in a revolutionary way.
Until today, analytical sensors required the use of an external (proprietary) transmitter in order to translate the sensor signal for use in the control process. Considering the possible error by the requirements of IEC 61508/IEC 61511 in the chain from sensor to process control system, the transmitter represents the main source of error in percentage. Poor installation, cabling or configuration of the transmitter are frequently occurring issues. To eliminate these risks, KROHNE miniaturised the transmitter and fitted it into the sensor head. Any SMARTSENS sensor can be connected directly to the process control system, featuring direct communication via 4…20 mA/ HART. KROHNE is the first provider to offer a direct connection from the sensor to the process control system via a standardised fieldbus.
