Sustainable Calibrations... Green Talk or Wishful Thinking?
Not at European Lab Services! In Spring 2009 Photovoltaic panels were installed on the ELS main office in Steendorp, Belgium. This was the latest step on their sustainable business ladder.
From the start there has been a strong focus on quality and service at ELS. The main beneficiaries from this are, of course, the customers. ELS think beyond just today’s business; they also take care of the future. ELS do not only want to built up long term relationships with their customers, they also take up their responsibility for the future generations to come. ELS wish to offer ISO 17025 performance for many decennia to come!
We succeed in this by reducing the use of resources.
This starts from using recycled paper and packaging, computers with low power LED screens, reduce energy consumption by high level building isolation, light management and now solar energy.
Since the activity of the Photovoltaic installation, electricity consumption is reduced to near zero. ELS’ calibration lab runs on 100 % solar power. A fixed percentage of their profit is donated to non
profit organisations. ELS have selected a number of societies and projects around the world that they support on a long term basis. It is important for ELS customers to know that their business helps European Lab Services to help people. Also, this is sustainable business helping people to develop in future years. In Steendorp, they really can say that they are putting a ray of sunshine into your instruments!

After 30 years of business, the company,
which was taken over by Mr Jean Denisselle, took a new step by adding the production of pressure and temperature sensors to its original activity.
A little later, the arrival of electronics in the

Acquisition Strengthens Established Line of Process Analysers
Modcon Systems (Israel) announced it has acquired Petrometrix Ltd (Israel) along with its affiliates Petrometrix Inc based in Houston, USA. Founded in 1992, Petrometrix Ltd. develops manufactures and markets a new generation of process analysers based on Near Infrared (NIR) technology for the petroleum and petrochemical industries.
The new Beacon 3000 represents a breakthrough in
NIR process analyser design. This technology enables the facility to connect of up to 8 process stream sensors (field units) to a single analyser situated in the control room.
The analyser confined from the process environment and requires no explosion proof housing or analyser shelter. The field units use no electricity, contain no moving parts and certified under the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. The maximum distance between the analyser and the field units can reach up to 3 km (2 miles), which enables to install the field units close to the process.
The unique Freetune software which installed on the analyser compares the analyser readings with the
laboratory results and enables the automatic tuning of models if systematic disagreement between results is determined. The guaranteed utilisation factor with this technology is at least 98%.

industry led the Company to create the “Intrinsic Safety" pole, a new technology for explosive areas, of which Georgin was a precursor in this field.
The company was at its peak between the
years 1974 and 1990, when it accompanied the rise of nuclear energy in France.
The Company has freed itself from political and economic risks due to the technological and strategic guidance it has been given. The company was therefore able to enter the twenty-first century by consolidating its areas of expertise and adding other skills.
Today a renewal of world interest in nuclear
energy and a growing expansion on the export side, has given new energy to the company which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
Thanks to its recognised know-how and skills,
Georgin is currently preparing the future with its customers and partners.
The continuity of Georgin is assured by the
recent incorporation of Mr. Jean Denisselle's grandson into the company He will takeover the management very soon.
