Measurement and Testing

Brand New Calorimeter/ Wobbe Index Meter

The WIM Compas® series is the latest addition to

the Hobré Instruments (Netherlands) portfolio of process analysers for Wobbe Index, Heating Value/BTU and Combustion Air Requirement Index. It succeeds the very successful WIM 9900 and COSA9600®

is a great choice for measuring gas combustion parameters. Response time of the analyser is less than 5 seconds and repeatability is better than 0.05%!

calorimeters. Offering unmatched reliability, speed of response, accuracy and supported by profound application knowledge, the WIM Compas®

Applications include fuel gas to fired heaters and gas turbines, flare and vent gas monitoring, natural gas blending and storage and LNG. Also for biogas and difficult steel plant off gas applications the WIM Compas offers an ideal solution. The WIM Compas is certified for ATEX Zone 1/Zone 2 and for Cl1 Div2 hazardous area.

Reader Reply Card No 150 Trace Sulphur Impurities in Petroleum Liquids

PerkinElmer-Arnel (USA) offers a family of turnkey analysers that measure trace levels of sulphur compounds in liquid-phase petrochemicals, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha and gasoline. Analyser Models 4026, 4027 and 4227 incorporate a sulphur chemiluminescence detector (SCD) for analysis of these liquids. Key performance features of the SCD for these petrochemicals include high sensitivity, > 104 dynamic range, equimolar sulfur response, lack of carbon interference and simple calibration.

Reader Reply Card No 152 Heated Lines for use in Hazardous Areas

For use in hazardous areas Winkler (Germany) provides a new range of heated lines for various applications in environmental and process technology.

These lines and hoses are approved as complete systems and come with EC type examination certificates. They can be used in zones 1/2 (gas) and 21/22 (dust) and due to their design they can be adapted to a wide range of custom applications.

High quality, tested and approved materials are used in constructing these lines and allow for ambient temperatures between –40°C and +80°C which makes them suitable for a broad spectrum of applications. This extended use as low as –40°C (as opposed to the standard –20°C) meets the increased demands of Winkler’s customers and shows the consequently high quality material selection for the components used.

Where required, certified Pt100 temperature sensors for intrinsically safe circuits can be provided. Winkler also offers suitable equipment to control the process temperatures and to limit the maximum permitted temperatures (temperature class T6, T5, T4, T3). A large selection of fittings with fixed or removable conductive inner core complete the Winkler program of heated lines for use in hazardous areas.

Detailed documentation and all required certificates for making up an explosion protection document are, of course, included.

Reader Reply Card No 153 New High Range H2S Process Analyser

Detcon’s (USA) new High Range Model 1000-H2S Process Analyser is designed to provide continuous, accurate real-time measurement of hydrogen sulfide gas concentrations in a wide variety of gas streams. With new technology and design, the High Range Process Analyser has a measurement range of 0-1,000 ppm with up to 2% standard and up to 5% with additional high range applications packaging.

All process analysers in the Model 1000 Series employ Detcon's 3-Electrode Electrochemical sensor element and feature a microprocessor-based signal-

conditioning transmitter with local digital display, fault supervision, calibration mode indicator, 4-20mA, alarm relays and RS-485 serial port outputs. The instrument package is rated (explosion-proof) Class I, Div I, Groups B, C, D.

Measure Fat, Oil and Grease

Levels in Wastewater... on-site results in 10-15 minutes!

InfraCal TOG/TPH Analyzers let you quickly and easily:

• analyze produced water on offshore oil platforms

• monitor refinery or industrial plant wastewater effluents

• measure FOG discharge levels into treatment centers

With over 2,000 in operation, InfraCal Analyzers are the worldwide industry standard for on-site measurement of total oil and grease (TOG), total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) or Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) in water.

Don’t wait for off-site lab tests to ensure compliance as fines for discharges above permit requirements can be costly – often more than the price of an InfraCal TOG/TPH Analyzer!
