Analytical Instrumentation Gas Injection for GC Made Easy

Joint Analytical Systems GmbH (Germany) has recently introduced a new unique and user-friendly easy and exact reproducible Gas Injection for GC Applications; GICU. With GICU it is possible to fill the GC sample loop with well-defined pressures. It is also very easy to calibrate and to run gas samples under the same or similar conditions. GICU can handle different gas samples with different pressures. Arguably its most important benefit is that it is possible to adjust the sample loop pressure from 50mbar to 2000mbar (abs.) with a high-precision controlled vacuum pump. The pumping system can be used automatically with a pre-programmed procedure for flushing and cleaning the gas path of the system which is ideal when handling hazardous samples. The programming procedure is easy to setup and user-friendly and can be incorporated into specific selected GC methods.

The GICU System is standalone and fully controlled by dedicated software : GICU starts the GC run after achieving the set pressure or when the GICU method is complete. As the pressure in the sample loop can be controlled, it is possible to setup multiple calibration levels with just one standard gas. This is a big benefit for detectors that are not linear and require multiple calibration points to establish a confident calibration curve.

The Double-beam optical system by Shimadzu (Germany) ensures excellent stability and world class sensitivity/Fully automatic multi-element analysis in flame and graphite furnace mode. It also includes a unique safety feature; a vibration sensor.

Shimadzu has introduced a new series of atomic absorption spectrophotometers. The high-performance AA-7000 system with double-beam optics covers the fully automatic multi-element analysis in flame and graphite furnace mode. In parallel, Shimadzu has developed the AA-7000F instrument for analysis in flame mode. The AA-7000G features graphite furnace technology.

The AA-7000 series replaces Shimadzu's AA-6300 and AA-6800 family, and covers the entire performance range in the world of atomic absorption spectrophotometers. With a maximum range of performance, the AA-7000 series have a minimum footprint. The whole unit needs just half a square meter of space.

Today's environmental consciousness and the continuously increasing quality requirements of our daily needs call for control mechanisms requiring more and more accurate analytical systems. The AA-7000 meet these needs and combines excellent performance data with the highest level of accuracy.

Netherlands based G.A.S (Global Analyser Solutions) offers a LPG analyser with dedicated external Pressure Facility. This instrument analyses hydro- carbons and sulphur components in various liquefied streams. All system parts like pressurising valve and liquid injection valves are well integrated in GC hardware and GC method. The Pressure Facility controls the pressure in the liquid injection valve during injection, and guarantees highly quantitative data in this way. The unit can also be configured as vaporiser, when LPG samples need to be injected using a gas sampling valve.

GR Scientific’s (UK) Aquamax TAN (total acid number) titrator has been designed to offer maximum specifications and features whilst being priced at a very competitive level. This user-friendly titrator conforms to ASTM D664 for determination of acidic constituents in petroleum products, lubricants and transformer insulating oils.

The Aquamax TAN, which comes with a 5 year warranty, offers specific titration programs depending on the expected TAN of the sample. This instrument includes a data logger for the last 50 titration results, a high precision 10ml syringe with resolution 1/40,000 of the syringe volume. Results are given in mg KOH/g and the user can transmit the results to a printer or PC.
