Analytical Instrumentation New Generation of Refinery Gas Analyser
Joint Analytical Systems (Germany) has introduced its next generation of unique and user-friendly analysers for the hydrocarbon processing industry. This special and unique JAS Mach-RGA is based on Agilent 7890 GC platform with dual TCD and a single FID channel. The system is optimised for refinery gases from C1
~ C6 +, CO, CO2, O2, N2, He, H2and H2S in an analysis time of less than 5 min., using specially coated micro
packed & capillary columns. If H2S is required to be analysed, then the cycle time will be extended by 2min. The system has a LDL of 0.01% for hydrocarbons and permanent gases and 0.1% for HvS. The Mac-RGA comes with an option to include additional applications to analyse
LPG with liquid injection valve using back pressure regulators to ensure consistent liquid phase injection. The system can also be used to
detect trace level of CO and CO2 down to 0.1ppm using the special JAS methaniser. This additional application will run separately from the standard RGA method and will only cost a small fraction of an additional GC if such application is desired. JAS’ Mach-RGA system not only saves costs but also bench space in the laboratory.
In LPG streams JAS Mach-RGA can analyse all relevant compositions in less than 5min. It is also possible to configure the system as a backup to analyze trace hydrocarbons in bulk gases including ethylene, propylene and butene. This unique analyser comes with an extensive kit of tailor-made consumables and software and is ready-to-use.

Specialist in Petroleum Test Equipment Has Settled Down in Halsteren, The Netherlands
In March 2009 Zematra BV, well-known for their expertise in Petroleum Test Equipment, moved to their new larger premises in Halsteren. For 17 years we served the European (petro)chemical industry from our offices in Hoogvliet. Due to the addition of new lines and new services we needed a better equipped building to accommodate our personnel, warehouse, production and service activities.
The building is conveniently located alongside the A4 motorway between Rotterdam and Antwerp. The last part of the A4 is planned to be finished at the end of 2013 and when finished it is expected to become one of the most important motorways in the Netherlands. For this reason we have selected this strategic location. From the industrial area, Oude Molen, we will be able to serve our customers in Europe in the best and quickest possible way.
Our new premises has the latest ICT infrastructure, different offices, a workshop, two labs and a large warehouse. We also have a large meeting room which can be used for social events, product training, product presentations and of course general meetings. It has been multi purpose built for the future so that we can expand our activities and explore the possibility to get an ISO17025 accreditation.
At this new location we can start offering new services like temperature calibration, pressure calibration, etc. It will also give us the opportunity to grow and improve our own line of Condition Monitoring equipment and lab equipment. Examples of our lab instruments are the Automated Stability Analyser (ASTM D7060), 6 position Sediment Tester (IP375) and Fuel Aging Bath (IP390).
2009 has been a hectic year for us and we are ready for the next decade(s) to serve you in the best possible manner, we are positive for the future.

Zematra BV is an internationally well-known supplier and manufacturer of analytical laboratory equipment, general laboratory equipment and consumables for the (petro)chemical industry.
We are the exclusive partner of the viscosity specialist Cannon Instrument Company for Europe (except Spain, Italy and France) and CIS countries. In France we can also offer service and maintenance on the Cannon Products.
In a great part of Europe we are the exclusive partner of Tanaka Scientific Ltd (automatic petroleum test Equipment). In the Benelux we can also offer and service the products from companies like Petrotest GmbH, PCS instruments ltd., Eralytics GmbH, Julabo Labortechnik, Tintometer UK Ltd., GR Scientific ltd., Kyoto Electronics Manufacturing Ltd., AD Systems, Wilks Enterprise Inc., and many others.
Zematra is the specialist in effective solutions for monitoring the condition of fuels (incl. biofuels), lubricants and process fluids. We have our own production of portable on-site fluid analysis products. We also have a wide range of sampling and gauging equipment.
The iQ II EDXRF Spectrometer gives precise, accurate analytical results on demanding process control samples, says manufacturer Spectro Analytical Instruments GmbH (Germany). Oil refin- ers, lubricating oil manufacturers, mineral and cement producers and many other industries will find this instrument attractive because of its simplicity of operation and impressive sensitivity for the often critical “light” elements like Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S and Cl.
The advanced polarised X-ray optical system uses a curved HOPG (highly oriented pyrolytic graphite) crystal located very close to the sample, ensuring optimum excitation for light elements. By combining this optical system with a 50 kV X-ray tube and an exceptionally powerful Peltier- cooled Silicon Drift Detector, perform- ance approaching that of much more expensive Wavelength Dispersive (WDXRF) instruments can be achieved in many applications, for both light and trace elements in liquid and loose powder samples, Helium flushing can be used with the iQ II to enhance light element performance, but unlike most small EDXRF instruments the user can also measure pelletised or fused samples under vacuum conditions, thereby dramatically reducing operating costs over the life of the instrument. A new generation of sample cassettes makes possible the extremely accurate sample positioning system in the iQ II, helping to achieve the high analytical precision required for industrial QC applications.
A selection of ready-to-go applications software packages is available for important applications such as ultra-low Sulphur in fuel oil, lubricating oil additives, cement and slag analysis. Where appropriate, these methods comply with international norms.
