10 No Frills HPLC Autosampler Delivers What You Truly Need
IF your HPLC routine calling for automation, look no further than the HT1500L: an autosampler specifically designed for HPLC, fully equipped with all the powerful features any HPLC technician would naturally choose.
HT15000L is the new HPLC autosampler from HTA that offers the best balance of quality and affordability and that is perfectly compatible with any HPLC system.
Unlike LC-MS, nanoLC and UHPLC systems, the HPLC requires few, essential features: excellent analytical performance, good sample capacity, and of course, uncompromised reliability, robustness and durability. HTA has showered the HT1500L with all these essential features, while eliminating anything unnecessary to keep costs as a minimum.
No frills but even no compromise. Despite the competitive price, HT1500L has a strong commitment to quality: the materials have been picked up to provide longevity; the up-to-date technologies offer reliability that deserve a modern instrument while the design attests our care in details.
HT1500L holds multiple racks, each of them removable, to allow continuous sample feeding and more convenient operations. The on-board solvent reservoir allows the needle and the whole flowpath cleaning before processing the next sample.
HT1500L comes with HTA Autosampler Manager, HTA complementary software for autosampler programming. After setting the method once, the operator just needs to load samples and presses START: all the samples in the racks will be automatically processed. Seamless integration can also be experienced with the currently used Chromatography Data System.
HT1500L can actually become your workhorse, extremely reliable and straight to the point.

Columns for Fast Lab Analysis and Purification
Kromasil, a brand of silica-based particles for chromatography by AkzoNobel, has been expanded with new pre-packed columns for lab testing. The new Kromasil EternityXT C8, similar to the already available surface modifications EternityXT C18 and PhenylHexyl can be used under a wider range of pH than regular silica equivalents. The product was already available in bulk for large-scale applications and is now introduced in new convenient pre-packed columns suitable for small- scale testing and analysis. The columns are available in three particle sizes: 1.8 µm for UHPLC applications, 2.5 µm for both UHPLC and HPLC applications and 5 µm for HPLC and semi-preparative chromatography.
The Kromasil EternityXT columns are based on patented technology, resulting from more than 25 years of development after the launch of the original Kromasil silica line, which is used in amongst others the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries as well as for environmental testing.

Silica-Free Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) Columns Released
Gilson have announced an extension to its PLC purification system offering by introducing centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) columns, available with a wide range of reusable, silica-free column possibilities. CPC columns coupled with a PLC Purification System offer improved yields and better cost efficiencies over flash chromatography and preparative HPLC techniques. The easily scalable systems are ideal for natural compound purification, natural extract fractionation, and general molecule purifications for cosmetics, food supplements, and pharmaceuticals.
New EtG/EtS Column Solves Matrix Interference Problems
A Raptor EtG/EtS column is your solution. Typical methods for EtG and EtS analysis have several limitations: poor resolution from matrix components, long run times that limit sample throughput, and short column lifetimes. Restek has developed a new Raptor EtG/EtS column that consistently retains and resolves EtG and EtS from matrix interferences, providing accurate, reliable results injection after injection. Reliable performance and long column lifetime make this column ideal for alcohol consumption monitoring by high-throughput labs. Paired with Restek reference standards and its fast, 4-minute, dilute-and-shoot LC-MS/MS method, the Raptor EtG/EtS column allows you to analyse EtG/EtS samples with confidence.
Restek chemists became the first to combine the speed of superficially porous particles (also known as SPP or ‘core-shell’ particles) with the resolution of highly selective USLC technology. This new breed of chromatographic column allows you to more easily achieve peak separation and faster analysis times without expensive UHPLC instrumentation.

Using Gilson’s CPC technology in the natural product purification process results in greater than 95% recoveries with 99% purity. The CPC columns are ideal for labs that are going green. They create less waste by being reusable, and provide cost savings by eliminating expensive column replacement and silica recycling. The technology also uses five times less solvent than preparative HPLC and flash chromatography.
The silica-free CPC columns offer large injection capacity, from milligrams to multi-kilograms depending on the size of CPC column. Gilson purification systems provide preparative- to industrial-scale purification of highly complex samples without sample pretreatment.
To streamline workflows, this Gilson purification system can be completely controlled through Gilson Glider software. As chromatographic columns, the Gilson CPC can connect to any preparative liquid chromatography system.
Gilson offers complete purification solutions. Now with the combination of Gilson’s CPC column with the PLC Purification Systems, researchers have the flexibility to easily use either CPC, flash, or preparative HPLC columns as needed.

Targeted Analysis and Accurate Profiling of Volatiles and Semi-volatiles in High Complexity Samples
GC×GC-HRMS is one of the most powerful tools available to analytical chemists for the targeted analysis and accurate profiling of volatiles and semi- volatiles in samples of high complexity. This technique combines the excellent resolving power granted by two-dimensional separations with accurate mass measurements that provide a substantial advantage for identity confirmation. It is therefore not surprising that GC×GC-HRMS is increasingly more accepted in labs dealing with challenging analytical requests in very complex matrices such as, for instance, environmental and food analysis.
JSB recently investigated the use of GC×GC with Zoex thermal modulation coupled to an Agilent QTOF detector for quantification of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). These compounds are synthetic chlorinated compounds banned or restricted due to their toxicity to humans and impact on the environment but, being persistent pollutants, are still present as residues in soil, water, food etc. Their identification and quantification is of great importance for environmental and food safety since they represent a risk even at very low level. The QTOF grants wide operational flexibility allowing EI and CI acquisition, as well as MS/MS capability. In this example JSB selected the NCI to obtain higher sensitivity for the halogenated compounds. The results obtained for linearity and repeatability show that GC×GC with thermal modulation and QTOF are robust and provide performance suitable for reliable identification and quantification at low concentrations.
