Spotlight Pumps, Valves & Liquid Handling Analytica Exhibitors Partner Up New Ultra-Smooth Flow Chemistry Pump
Syrris is delighted to announce the launch of its new Asia Syringe Pump. Designed specifically for flow chemistry, the Asia Pump is rated to 20 bar (300 psi) and highly chemically resistant using PTFE (and other fluorinated polymers) and glass. This compact module offers two independent continuous flow channels, each with an integrated pressure sensor and a flow rate range from 1.0µl to 10ml/min.

Diba Industries and Bio-Chem Fluidics exhibited jointly at Analytica 2010.
Diba Industries showcased its Omnifit Labware
low-pressure liquid chromatography (LPLC) columns, featuring a new range for standard aqueous applications. A new high temperature range of columns is also available for flow chemistry and LPLC separations at elevated temperatures. The company also offers a complete line of fluid path components including the torque-assuring Click-N-Seal connections in a range of fitting styles, Flared Tubing Assemblies, Precision Tubing, and Probes for reagent and sample transfer. Diba designs custom caps and bottles for reagents and waste, and will also be launching a new line of solvent waste container bottle caps. The new line will allow the company to offer a complete closed system solution for laboratory solvent handling.
Bio-Chem Fluidics featured its new lines of electric rotary valves, stepper motor operated devices used for sample collection, loop injection or flow path selection. The company also featured its new moulded body pinch valves that provide a full bore passage through flexible tube, which is pinched off to produce a tight seal while restricting fluid contact to the inside of the tube.

With the ability to provide an extremely smooth flow rate, the compact pump is only 23 cm wide, making it ideal for in-lab use. Furthermore, the replacement of components such as valves, syringes or pressure sensors is extremely quick and easy, without the need for any tools. Produced to the highest specifications, flow rate and volume can easily be controlled using the intuitive front panel, or via the Asia PC software. The PTFE pressure sensor ensures safe operation by automatically stopping the pumps in the case of over pressure.
Specifically designed for use with the Asia Syringe Pump, the Asia Pressurised Input Store enables four reagents to be stored under an inert gas atmosphere. As a result, an ultra-smooth flow is delivered due to the 1 bar pressure significantly reducing the formation of gas bubbles.

Fine Vacuum Gauge with Corrosion Resistant Transducer BrandTech Scientific has introduced a new vacuum gauge from Vacuubrand®
The display module DCP3000 has the ability to connect up to three additional VSP3000 transducers. Automatic configuration of the display unit to gauge heads and solenoid valves is via Vacuubrand’s VACUU•BUS plug-and-play system. Up to four additional VSK3000 capacitive gauge heads for the rough vacuum range can also be connected, for a total of up to eight transducers. A solenoid vent valve can be added to vent the application. The displayed pressure can be measured in the users choice of units - Torr, millibar or hectoPascal. Digital and analogue displays provide both precise readings and trend indication. A ‘turn-and-push’ jogwheel interface allows for easy navigation of menus. The set includes 100-230VAC / 50-60Hz universal power supply with US, CEE, UK, CH and AUS plugs. Purchase through preferred laboratory supply dealers.

. The DCP3000 + VSP3000 uses the Pirani principle of
thermal conductivity to measure in the fine vacuum range. It incorporates the new patent-pending VSP3000 transducer that is substantially more chemically resistant and mechanically robust than earlier designs, making it an excellent choice for both chemistry labs and process applications.
Ergonomic Design Offers Better Pipetting
ANALYTICA NEWS
‘Simply better pipetting’ – at Analytica 2010, Eppendorf presented a novel product innovation, the new electronic pipette Eppendorf Xplorer®
. The intuitive user concept and ergonomic design set new standards for simplicity,
precision and reproducibility. During development of the Eppendorf Xplorer, the focus was on the user who is handling complex or lengthy pipetting processes. The Eppendorf Xplorer thus provides precisely adjustable parameters, maximally reproducible results and fatigue-free pipetting.
The new refrigerated centrifuges 5418 R and 5424 R are 18 sample and 24 sample models for tubes of 0.2ml up to 2.0ml in volume (depending on the instrument). The Fast Temp function ensures that the samples reach the desired
Dolomite has introduced the Mitos P-pump to provide a pulseless liquid flow using a precise pressure driven pumping mechanism. With excellent response time and accuracy, such pressure driven flow is ideal for microfluidic systems where highly stable flow is required for applications such as droplet formation. Operating over a wide pressure range of 0 – 10 bar, the pump is suitable for use with systems of high fluidic resistance. The design features a lockable pressure chamber for safety, which is easily accessible and accommodates a wide range of standard and non-standard fluid vessels. With the ability to contain samples from 100µl to 30ml, the pump uses fluid directly from the container, to produce no mess or waste.
The Mitos P-pump works with laboratory nitrogen or Argon supply, gas bottle or compressor, making set-up quick and easy. Furthermore, user control is via an intuitive twist-and- click knob and display.

temperature as quickly as possible. 4ºC are guaranteed at maximum speed (21,130 x g) in the 5424 R. Continuous refrigeration prevents sample warming even after completion of the centrifugation run. In accordance with Eppendorf’s philosophy of Silence, Speed, SimplicityTM, the refrigerated centrifuges are equipped with the two familiar keys for simple and intuitive operation. Even when used without the rotor lid, these centrifuges are incredibly quiet. Their small footprint and low operating height ensure that they will find a space in every laboratory.
Eppendorf Eporator® , new on the market, offers a fast, simple and safe
setting for the transformation of bacteria, yeast and other micro-organisms with DNA/RNA. The results are highly reproducible and, in comparison with chemical methods, electroporation delivers a considerably higher transformation efficiency. epBlue ID represents the new version of PC software for control of the automated pipetting system epMotion. epBlue ID encompasses a novel barcode management function for the purpose of secure sample tracking.
