Joint Development for New Dosing Pump
New Quaternary Pump Unveiled

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc announced a new quaternary pump that dramatically improves separation for complex mixtures, such as red wine, during ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography (U-HPLC) analysis. The new Thermo Scientific Accela 1250 pump features Force Feedback Control (FFC) which eliminates the need for pulse dampening while improving flow accuracy and gradient precision under extreme operating conditions. The Accela 1250 pump is designed to operate at a top pressure of 1250 bar with flow rates of up to 2mL/min, reducing run times and improving productivity. This makes it the ideal choice for U-HPLC analysis and applications requiring flexibility between standard HPLC and U-HPLC capabilities. The improved pump also offers increased performance with significant baseline stabilisation and improved retention time reproducibility.
“We are delighted to bring enhanced U-HPLC to our customers,” said Andrew Altman, Director of Liquid Chromatography for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “The pressure capacity and operational performance offered by the Accela 1250 delivers maximum operating pressure, and the unique Forced Feedback Control redefines U-HPLC performance.” The Accela 1250 pump enhances the already powerful Accela LC, which provides fast, efficient chromatographic separations over an expansive range of flow rates and pressures.

KNF Flodos has been working together with Alexander Bozic and his team at Sanofi Aventis in Frankfurt to develop a new, easy to use SIMDOS®
dosing pump.
Attention was concentrated on improving the user interface and adding new innovative functions, and the new pump was tested and improved several times throughout the development process.
Close cooperation with Mr Bozic and his team helped KNF Flodos to develop a very intuitive and user-friendly interface and add new functions required by lab users.
Alexander Bozic is pleased with the result: "This pump is very versatile," he said. "It's a great dosing pump that can be used for a lot of different dosing applications, for example to replace dropping funnels, and to continuously dose variable and fixed solution quantities."

The Legato 200 Series from KD Scientific offers unparalleled ease of use through the high-resolution colour touch screen user interface. The full touch screen interface enables the user to quickly create configurations and recall them for easy use. The intuitive run screen combines multiple parameters simultaneously with internationally recognised graphic Icons, which allow the Legato 200 series to provide a new level of intuitive syringe pump operation.
Three basic models ensure the right pump for your application. Infuse only, Infuse and Withdraw and Push Pull. Each of these pumps is available in a programmable version for maximum flexibility and capability. Each of the basic models work with one syringe or two and can be reconfigured in the field to use with multiple syringes.
The Legato Series optimises laboratory bench space. For limited laboratory space the Legato 200 Series can be placed on its side to reduce the footprint by four Times. The footprint is only 3.5 inches by 9.75 inches. The display also tilts with the change to allow the user operate the pump vertically.
