Activity 4 Vocabulary and spelling: antonyms
1 Remember that an antonym is a word that means the opposite of another word. Example: the antonym of kind is cruel. (Look back at Reading Book page 57, number 5.)
2 Write down antonyms for these words from the story: a. sooner

1 Plan Brainstorm your ideas. a. Think of a good example of someone you helped. Why did you help them?
b. Write a list of all the things you did to help them.

3 Revise Make sure that your ideas follow in sequence and that you have used interesting adverbs and adjectives.
4 Edit and present Check your work and make the necessary corrections before you write the final draft. • Remember to use the past tense and make sure your sentences are complete.
• Check that you have used connecting words such as: and, because, then, and but.
