Activity 6 Listen and speak: tell your own story


1 Before speaking You are going to share the stories you wrote. Quietly read through your story and try to remember the order of events so that you can describe them clearly.


2 While speaking Work in groups of four and tell each other your stories. a. When you are telling your story, speak slowly and try to pronounce the words clearly. Look at the people in your group when you talk to them.


b. When you listen to someone else’s story, listen carefully and be respectful of each other.


Activity 7 Vocabulary and spelling: difficult words


1 Each of the underlined words in the paragraph below is a special word that you will often read and say, but which can be difficult to say and spell. Work out the meaning of the underlined words with a partner. Then take turns to practise saying the sentences.
