Notes for the teacher: 1 Formal assessment: In order to ensure that learners are tested on a variety of text types and themes, we have provided two comprehensions and two language tasks for each FAT 1. Providing two shorter tasks for these FATs gives a fairer reflection of learners’ skills and it also prepares learners more gradually for the longer comprehensions that they will do in the Senior Phase.
2 If needed, you could use the conversion table on the first page of the Assessment tools section in the Teacher’s Guide to convert marks to the correct weighting.
