Dear teammates
As captain of our soccer team I was as upset as you were when Ditau Junior beat us 4–0 in the Junior Soccer championship. We had been practising so hard and we really deserved to do beter!
There is some good news though. The goalkeeper for Bafana Bafana was watching us play. He saw that we need coaching and that our kit is old and worn. Although he is very busy, he has offered to coach us every Friday afternoon in the off-season. Not only that, but he is going to arrange for us all to get a new kit. I am so pleased, and I know you will be too.
I look forward to our first practice session after the break. Keep training! Mpho
P.S. I look forward to taking an “after shot” once we have our new kit!
4 Challenge: Your principal has to tell the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper how much the soccer kit for your team will cost. As the captain, he has asked you to write a letter to a company called Sports House to find out how much a soccer jersey, pants, soccer boots and socks will cost for one boy. Write to the manager to get this information. This is a business letter. It must be written in a formal way. Use the layout and frame on the next page to help you.
