Cross at a pedestrian crossing.
Always cross the road at safe places such as pedestrian crossings or traffic lights. You should wait for the green- person light before crossing. Look right, left, and right again to check for oncoming traffic before you step into the road. Cyclists must wear safety helmets. They must obey all the road signs. Cyclists must cycle in single file and never hold on to moving vehicles.

If you are a passenger on a train, always keep the doors closed while the train is moving. Do not push or play rough games on the train or while waiting for the train on the platform. Only cross a railway line at a railway crossing. Wait for the train to pass before you cross.

Look at the traffic signs below. These signs help you to obey the traffic rules when you use the road. Take it in turns to read what each sign means.
Traffic signs
Never cross the street when the pedestrian traffic light is red. You could be knocked over. Wait for the green pedestrian light.
This sign means that cars must stop and wait for pedestrians to cross the road. Always check that the cars have stopped before you start walking across the road.
This signs means that you must not cycle along this part of the road. It is not safe.
Some schools have scholar patrols which stop the traffic so that learners can cross the road safely to get to school.
This sign means that you must not walk along this part of the road.
If you are a pedestrian or a cyclist, stop at the stop sign. Look right, look left and look right again before moving forward.
