Language: Countable nouns


Countable nouns are nouns that you can count. For example: boy, country When a countable noun is singular, you put the words “a” or “an” in front of it. For example: a boy, a country. You can use many, few, a few, these or those with countable nouns in the plural. For example: many boys, those countries. You can also put a number before a countable noun. For example: one boy, three countries.


When the noun is plural, take away “a” or “an” and put -s or -ies on the end.
