Writing the book on tax - Bates Weston release guide
The Tolley’s Tax Planning series of books are regarded as the authority on tax planning in the industry – and one of the latest titles has been authored by colleagues at a Derby-based outfit. The tax team at Bates Weston, led by founder Craig Simpson and assisted by tax partners Richard Coombs and Cassandra Graham, put its knowledge and experience to effect by writing Tolley’s Tax Planning for Owner Managed Businesses 2020/21. The firm advises business owners on aspects of tax planning, specialising in complex reorganisations and reconstructions, divergence of shareholder plans, changes of strategic direction and protecting tax status. Craig said: “We are delighted that our tax team has
been able to draw on their expertise to take on this title. “It enhances their reputations as tax advisers to
substantial privately-owned businesses and high-net worth individuals and families. This year, perhaps more than ever, clients need our help.” Tolley’s is the UK market leader in providing practical
tax and accountancy guidance, in-depth reference materials, exam training and exclusive market insights. The book contains real-life solutions on tax planning
problems faced by business owners. It looks at the tax planning opportunities in each
transaction or event and uses case studies to explain tax liabilities, compliance and planning opportunities. It is primarily a technical reference book for accountants, professional advisers and students.
fully funded through the National Lottery Community Fund, and available to community and voluntary organisations, Chesterfield residents, and staff and students at University of Derby. Community Chesterfield
project manager Charlotte Repton said: “Voluntary sector organisations have offered much needed support to residents of Chesterfield throughout the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. “These training sessions are
a way of accessing support and learning how to navigate an ever-changing world of work through professional training courses.”
