‘It was love at fi rst sight with Jimmy’s Farm!’

Natasha and James’ wedding took place at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park on 14 March 2020 – just before the country went into lockdown.

Looking back on this beautiful day spurs us on to make our weddings the best…and we’ll be ready to party in 2021!

Tell us about the proposal! James knew when he wanted to propose; it was his birthday and we spent the day in Brighton. We had dinner later the same day in London at one of our favourite restaurants. I remember, eating as soon as our food came to the table, that I neither heard or noticed that James had proposed - I literally had to swallow my food and ask him to repeat what he was saying!

When did you start to plan your wedding?

I was grateful that James wanted to be involved in the planning. Oſt en, I have heard of the groom- to-be taking the back seat, or even not feeling able to contribute. We were grateful that we had similar ideas and the input within our wedding

Tell us a bit more about your day. Our day had around 70 guests - we met in the tent for an intimate ceremony initially led by the registrar, then our church pastor. We served canapes and cut the cake soon aſt er, as this was the time all guests were still in one place. As a little treat for our guests, we arranged for them to have a walk around the farm - members of the public had leſt by that time, so it felt more exclusive. Our wedding breakfast was an awesome barbeque; burgers, halloumi, ribs, slaw, brownies, Eton Mess…it was delicious!

Where did you source your suppliers? Natasha and I support local businesses where we can, therefore fi nding independent suppliers in Suff olk was key for us.

How did you choose your venue? [Natasha] Some of our best days out have been at Jimmy’s Farm and on my fi rst visit, it was love at fi rst sight. T e farm had so much to off er…quality

customer service is

important to us. Natalie [wedding planner] was

warm and welcoming, professional and friendly from the start; she would oſt en meet us for coff ee at the farm to talk over suggestions.

Tell us about your photographer. Anesta was great - we met her one evening at her home, completely relaxed. It was as if we had all met before - she listened to our ideas, showed us her portfolio and we quickly realised that her photography style was what we wanted.

What was your wedding theme/colour scheme? We both love the colour green and our wedding was at the start of
