T e Potting Shed takes root at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park

A new garden centre at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, The Potting Shed offers quality plants, garden furniture and much more while supporting other small businesses by sourcing from local craftsmen and traders.

After delays caused by lockdown, the centre was fi nally able to open its doors to visitors in May.

It is run by plant lover, Keith Bodsworth, a qualifi ed Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) gardener and strong advocate for the conservation and preservation of British wildlife.

After working as a groundsman and part of the maintenance team at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife for 18 months, Keith decided to use his skills for something different.

“We approached them with our idea for a garden centre onsite with a difference,” explains Keith, who created The Potting Shed with the help of his partner, Gemma Cullin.

“One that sources all stock, including furniture and plants, from local stockists and craftsmen to support the local community. I pride myself on providing quality products that support small business, many of whom, we have known personally for many years.

“Passionately green-fi ngered, I love my plants as well as beautiful, hand-crafted garden furniture that I can sit in to enjoy the bright and beautiful colours that flowers bring into a space,” says Keith.

“I want the garden centre to be a reflection of all the things I love

to do - growing my own displays and planters that people can take home and recreate in their gardens, and also to promote rewilding and encourage people to buy species that support British wildlife.”

Open daily, the centre has social distancing measures fully in place. Alternatively, orders can be placed online on orders@ thepottingshedjimmys.co.uk (just include your full name, an address and a contact number).

Plus, The Potting Shed offers free delivery if you live in Suffolk or Essex and spend more than £30!
