At long last, we’ve managed to find a mate for our rhea, Dexter, who’s been pining for some female company. Lady rheas, which are also native to South America and related to the ostrich and emu, are pretty hard to come by. “Only boys have been found in the
zoo world, so she’s a great find,” says general manager Stevie Sheppard. “She was being kept as a pet but became too big for her owner’s garden. Hopefully, she’ll be everything Dexter wants.” We’re also delighted to announce
several births – three gorgeous Pygmy goats, along with two sets of very rare breed Bagot goat twins. And we’ll be asking you for your name suggestions! Our rare breed Golden Guernsey,
