The Great Escape, featuring a legendary motorcycle chase that culminates in a jaw-dropping jump to freedom over a barbed wire fence. Like the late Hollywood actor


who performed his own stunts in the fi lm, our daredevil meerkat, Steve McQueen, is hell-bent on somersaulting his enclosure to explore new horizons. And now sneaky Steve is a star


in his own right after his multiple escapes featured on Channel 4’s Spring at Jimmy’s Farm. Our team has managed to put


a stop to his cheeky antics for now after several tweaks to the enclosure where he lives with 13 chums. But it


seems that fame has gone to our mischievous meerkat’s furry head. It’s quite obvious that Steve McQueen has no plans to stay put and stop giving us the run- around. In fact, we’ve already caught him mapping out his next escape route – and that’s why we really need your help. We would like to create the ultimate mob hangout by building a new, bigger enclosure to provide Steve and his crew with a better environment and visitors an enhanced experience. Due to the impact of lockdown


on visitor numbers and income, we have been forced to put all plans for new and upgraded facilities on hold - and it’s unlikely that we can progress any of this much needed work for some time.


However, we can do this with your help! We've created a GoFundMe campaign to raise £10,000 with 100 per cent of every single donation going towards a new home for our marvellous meerkats. If we reach our target, we will include the name of anyone who has donated £25 or more on our new enclosure wall. Those gifting more than £200 will be invited along with their family or friends to a personal keeper experience where they will meet the meerkat of the moment and his roommates.
