Forward Brewing is a 28-seat beer hall-style restaurant and taproom that will be housed in a former marine electronics store. This nano-brew- ery offers tremendous flexibility in the beers they are able to craft and present.


Irish Hospitality Global named Galway Bay Irish Restaurant, Pub and Whiskey Bar their 2019 winner for “Best Irish Whiskey Experience” in the U.S. After several months of renovations, Galway Bay first introduced its Irish Whiskey Bar experience back in 2018, featuring more than 80 Irish whiskeys.


Located across from the Annapolis Towne Centre, the family-owned Julep Southern Kitchen and Bar opened in mid-December 2019. It features a contemporary southern-comfort menu, an open kitchen, and a full-service bar.

Just in time to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Annapolis Maritime Museum is revamping its 2,500-square foot space and is slated to reopen with new, permanent exhibits in April of 2020. The state-of-the-art, high tech, high touch gallery will remain true to the museum’s mission, focusing on three primary themes: Bay Health, Oyster Economy and Annapolis Waters. The museum also is expected to begin offering heritage tours aboard its recently acquired and refurbished skipjack, the Wilma Lee.


Maryland State Archives unveiled bronze statues of Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass in the Old House of Delegates Chamber of the Maryland State House. The statues have been placed in the chamber to honor these two heros and leaders within the abolitionist movement.


The National Electronics Museum plans to open a permanent workshop and children’s discovery area by the end of 2020. To make way for the new dis- covery area, the museum is clearing thousands of books out of its library.
