Visit Doncaster team, the guide was launched at one of the fastest growing and most popular attractions in the UK – Doncaster’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Yorkshire Wildlife Park has an
exciting year ahead as the first phase of its new expansion is due to open later in 2020. The 150-acre expansion includes the arrival of new species for the expanded animal reserves, a new hub for visitors with a hotel, restaurants, leisure retail and a new entrance into the park. Doncaster will also welcome a
string of new attractions in 2020. A new purpose-built
cinema and leisure complex will open in the town’s Civic and Cultural Quarter, alongside a new central library and museum that will showcase many ‘never been seen before’ exhibits. The railway station
forecourt will be transformed into a new public space with an impressive piece of public art that celebrates Doncaster’s rich rail and horseracing heritage. The cultural theme continues
with the Mayflower 400 celebrations, which recognise Doncaster’s connections to the original Pilgrim Fathers, while a statue honouring Doncaster’s mining heritage will be located in the town centre. These new attractions and
events will complement the raft of things to do and enjoy right across the borough in 2020. To coincide with the Visitor
Guide launch, the popular Visit Doncaster card will also be available to purchase from the Tourist Information Centre. The card is available with the Purple Vouchers Book at a special
