A NEW ERA FOR BREWERS AND JOHNSTONE’S TRADE

PAINT MANUFACTURER JOHNSTONE’S Trade has enhanced its relationship with the UK’s largest independent decorating stockist, Brewers Decorator Centres. Having been a valued partner of the brand for many

years, Brewers will now be dedicating more space than ever to Johnstone’s Trade products in its full network of stores, giving customers greater access to the latest technology. A wide range of Johnstone’s Trade’s paint products will

be available via the merchant, including core lines such as Acrylic Durable Matt, Cleanable Matt and StainAway, as well as the manufacturer’s latest innovation, Perfect Matt, which eliminates application marks and allows for effortless spot repair. Brewers will also continue to offer customers an exclusive 7.5L tub of Johnstone’s Trade’s new and improved Smooth Masonry paint, which is rain resistant after 20 minutes and can be applied in temperatures from 2˚C and rising. As well as working more closely on new product

launches and demonstrations, the two businesses plan to develop useful point of sale materials to help customers identify the most suitable products for their projects. The partnership will also see the continued promotion of

Johnstone’s Trade’s colour expertise and its popular Voice of Colour palette. Customers will be able to browse and colour-match over 2,000 shades including the 2020 Colour of the Year, Chinese Porcelain, using a range of collateral, whether it be handy colour cards or full wall installations. To progress the partnership, Brewers recently met with representatives from Johnstone’s Trade’s parent brand

PPG, including CEO Michael McGarry, executive vice president Tim Knavish, vice president AC EMEA North & East, Steve Pocock, and Trade business unit director Matthew Baines. Matthew said, “We’re so excited to embark on the next

stage of our partnership with Brewers and delighted that Johnstone’s Trade products will be such a strong focus in their vast network of stores. “As a company, we’re dedicated to developing new

and innovative products that answer the needs of both professional decorators and their customers, and having the opportunity to share these products, along

with our technical and colour advice, with a wider network of Brewers customers is fantastic. We look forward to working very closely with the team over the coming years.” Mark Sandison, commercial director at Brewers

Decorator Centres said, “We are delighted that the relationship is developing in such a positive way to the benefit of both PPG and Brewers. Offering the full range from Johnstone’s Trade enriches our brand and product portfolio, improves the breadth of service we can offer our customers and enhances our position as the ‘Destination for Decorators’.”

THE PURDY DIFFERENCE

The Purdy difference, which drives the company’s entire business ethic, is predicated on the very essence of how the brushes are made. Every single Purdy brush is individually made by hand and ‘signed’ by the person who made it with a personalised sticker – the mark of pride in a job well done. Every part of the brush is designed and built for maximum painting

performance using experience fostered since the company was founded in 1925 in in the same town in Oregon, USA, that it is based in to this day. Many of Purdy’s brush makers have more than three decades of experience on the shop floor.

www.purdy.co.uk Only the finest raw materials are used in a Purdy brush without

exception, from formulation to production. Solid alder wood handles, copper and stainless steel ferrules, and a variety of filament types to meet every application and preference. This attention to details makes Purdy brushes the choice for

professional decorators who rely on them for: •outstanding finish appearance no matter what the substrate or paint

•durability: some decorators have the same Purdy brush for decades •brush bristles to return to their most relaxed state after use. Maintaining premium form and extending life and giving better overall coverage with less effort

•greater efficiency in production: fewer trips to the paint tray or tin thanks to superb paint lifting capacity

•smoother brush strokes with no drag •superior cutting-in capability This long-standing commitment to quality shows in every brush stroke.

Decorators who believe a ‘brush is just a brush’ often change their tune once they’ve tried a Purdy brush! Through time there have been changes in paint technology, changes in how the job is done, and the day-to-day needs of the professional decorator. But the one thing that has not is Purdy’s commitment to give them the best tools for the job.
