od.Noting they have to be general, Burnett said in the majority of Canada, they are predicting not so cold temperatures and a snowy
winter.The excep- tion to this is an area in Quebec and southern Alberta, where it’s forecasted to be not so cold and wet, and the southern half of B.C., where it’s forecasted to be wet and colder. “In the world of weather, one degree difference up or down is really big,” said Burnett.“That’s why when we say that for southern Alberta we expect it to be not quite so cold,we don’t say that it’s going to be not so cold by a lot, only by a tiny bit in every-day terms.And then the same thing when we say,we expect it to be a little bit wetter than normal rather than snowier, that’s only by a tiny bit,because that’s the way the world of weather numbers work.”
