BUSINESS REPORT

NETWORKING EVENT RAISES CHARITY FUNDS

ACADEMY IS THE RIGHT ROUTE

Route 1 is a family-owned business delivering a personal touch, creating true partnerships with every contact it makes. Specialising in recruitment, fulfilment and express couriers, the Route 1 brand comes under the umbrella of Haines Holding Ltd. It works hard to ensure the

people it places into work are quality candidates and gives candidates the opportunity to recognise their true potential and earn a living wage. Recruitment consultant Jake

Stone said: “We have fantastic news regarding our consistent growth and client satisfaction. We have brought on new candidates and clients in a variety of fields. “Our service is always specified and designed around the needs of the client as well as to the benefit of the candidate which creates a perfect working environment. “We recently opened the

Route 1 Academy that adopts the fundamental skills of each client. This includes trialling and testing skills that are required to succeed in each available role. This vetting process enables us to fulfil each job requirement and show evidence of this, before the candidate enters the workplace. “We fully understand the importance of candidates showcasing required skills before taking up their placement, and the Route 1 philosophy supports this. “Due to our continued

growth, we’ve also appointed recruitment apprentice Sian McLeod. Sian is our first apprentice in recruitment, and we’re looking forward to building on the fantastic start she made this summer and building her career here. “We hope this is just the

start and we can welcome more apprentices as the business and our success grows.”

Lisa Scott delivers the Instagram Lunch and Learn session

Onefoursix marketing agency has raised £500 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice following a sell-out networking event. The marketing agency, based in Moulton

Park, created their Lunch and Learn events back in 2016 and they have been popular ever since covering a wide variety of topics including GDPR, SEO and digital marketing. September’s event was a sell-out covering how to use Instagram successfully as a business. September’s session was hosted by

onefoursix’s digital marketing executive, Lisa Scott. Lisa is also the editor of Northampton Life, Inside Cambridge and runs a Northamptonshire lifestyle blog, The Beauty Type. After running her own businesses through the platform, she wanted to educate people on the tips and tricks that are often

forgotten when it comes to using the platform as a small business. Lisa said: “We’re so pleased it was such a success, it was our first-ever event to sell out, so it’s shown there’s been a gap in the market for a full Instagram session. It’s something we’re keen to provide more training on in the future as there was even a waiting list! We’re extremely proud to have raised this sum from ticket sales alone.” Each Lunch and Learn session is based on an online marketing query, issue or platform and allows businesses to learn more about their marketing

efforts. The lunch is supplied by local catering company, I Cook You Serve. Visit: onefoursix.co.uk TAILORED CAREER WORKSHOPS
