HALL WEEN HALF-TERM SPECIAL

059

Forget Hey Jude, here’s Hey Grandude!

Through his series of magical colourful postcards, intrepid explorer, Grandude, whisks his four grandchildren off on incredible adventures, riding fl ying fi sh, dodging stampedes, and escaping avalanches... Hey Grandude! is a wild rollercoaster ride with a twist of magic, and a heartwarming family story – and the author is none other than legendary ex-Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney. “I wanted to write it for grandparents everywhere,” he

says, “and the kids – so it gives you something to read to the grandkids at bed time.” • Hey Grandude!, published by Penguin, is available as a hardback picture book and as a CD and audio download, narrated by Sir Paul himself.

OWLS-THAT! Take your kids on an Owl Trail daily this October half-term at Ightham Mote, near Sevenoaks and discover more about these feathery hunters of the estate. Children from The New Beacon and Dunton Green primary schools helped contribute to the trail’s stories – about a Barn Owl, and about a Little Owl. On Thursday 24th October, encounter real owls with Kent Owl Academy, who are bringing some of their owls to visit. • Visit nationaltrust.org.uk/Ightham-mote
