BUSINESS REPORT
PREPARING TO TRADE WITH HSBC
HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services organisations, have teamed up with the British Chambers of Commerce, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes Chambers to bring you a unique event exploring businesses preparedness for the new trading environment. The free event, ‘Preparing for a
New Trading Environment’, will be held on 3 October at Cynthia Spencer Hospice Donation Station in Pond Wood Close, Moulton Park, Northampton, and will look at how to take steps to prepare for a post- Brexit trading environment and encourage companies to consider the practical challenges that will impact businesses going forward. HSBC brings you this seminar to share insight from your peers and practical advice to ensure businesses are resilient and prepared to trade internationally once the UK has left the EU. The event will explore the
business impact of human resources and staffing, contract fulfilment and supply chain management and regulatory compliance.
Places are limited for this event so early booking is advised. Call to secure your place on 01604 490490.
BUSINESSES WARNED NOT TO CUT BACK ON TRAINING
An organisation which offers a Government-funded programme to boost skills has warned businesses against cutting back on training. TCHC says many businesses see
training as a bonus rather than an everyday need but they argue firms should see it as an investment. Operations Director Dominic
Wade said: “Training grows and develops the staff member, but it benefits their colleagues too and has a positive impact across the business. “It helps to attract and retain the
right people, transforms inexperienced staff, develops agile teams and improves performance, productivity and staff morale.” In Northamptonshire, there is a
programme called Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) that is funded by the government and consists of specialist providers offering a range of training including ILM leadership and management, team leading, AAT finance and bookkeeping, sales and marketing; social media for business, improved IT productivity, business improvement techniques and customer services.
The SSW programme can also
support businesses when they are making redundancies or restructuring with outplacement support and training. TCHC is part of Serco’s network of expert organisations chosen to
deliver the SSW programme in your area. SSW is co-financed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the European Social Fund.
For more information about SSW call TCHC on 01923 698449.
