INNOVATIVE PRODUCT TAKES HOME THE PRIZE

A paper-based shelving and storage system that is revolutionising the world of warehousing has won a national award for its innovative design. PIX® – a unique product designed by

PALLITE® – scooped the Innovation Award at the UK Warehousing Association’s annual awards ceremony. The award recognises a ‘bold and

innovative response to the challenging market’ through the introduction of new technology, products or processes. PALLITE® fought off stiff competition

‘I’M EXTREMELY PROUD OF OUR TEAM, WHO ROSE TO THE CHALLENGE’

from three other finalists to win the accolade, which was presented in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal. David Rose, PALLITE® innovations director, said:

“I’m extremely proud of our team, who rose to the challenge we set them to design and manufacture a solution that would make a real impact for warehouse managers. I’d also like to thank our customers, without

whose support we wouldn’t be where we are today.” PALLITE® PIX® is a range of lightweight, yet strong, storage and shelving systems made from 100% recyclable materials that are designed to consolidate pick-faces, freeing up under- used space in warehouses. The systems allow warehouse managers to increase their yield while remaining flexible to the demands of their supply chain. By combining multiple pick-faces into one single pallet footprint,

PALLITE® PIX® increases pick efficiency

by reducing pick times and walk sequences. Removable dividers allow the storage solutions to be tailored to different or awkwardly-sized products, increasing

protection for valuable or fragile items, while spaces

for labels and barcodes reduce the risk of pick errors. The range is strong enough to hold up to 500kg per

unit and it can be built, moved and dismantled without tools.

KEEPING THE CASTLE ROCKING

A historic castle has hosted a bumper year of public events alongside its bustling corporate calendar. Rockingham Castle has welcomed thousands of

visitors through its doors to a wide variety of events this year including the Rockingham International Horse Trials, Rockingham Fair, the Kennel Club International Dog Agility Festival, Vikings of Middle England and its first ever annual Food Festival. The castle also regularly runs tours for schools and

offers the ideal backdrop for out of office meetings, seminars or conferences as well as providing bespoke private dining options within its ancient walls where royalty has been entertained. Rockingham Castle owner James Saunders Watson

said: “We have had a busy year so far hosting lots of successful public and corporate events, as well as weddings too, with many more to come.

“Our historic rooms, gardens and green spaces at

Rockingham Castle means we have lots of options to host all sorts of events – from large-scale to smaller affairs, and organisers and businesses continually tell us what a unique setting we have to offer. We build on our success year-on-year and are already looking ahead to 2020.” The castle has also hosted its popular

jousting event, Easter egg hunt and outdoor cinema experiences and will run a Halloween event from 29 October to 1 November and its Victorian Christmas event from 27 November to 1 December.
