INBUSINESS VIEWPOINT

Number 7 is certainly lucky for us as a Chamber Group, for we’re thrilled to announce we’ve retained our place as the 7th largest direct membership Chamber in the UK in the network of 53 Chambers accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce. Our focus on member engagement at Milton Keynes Chamber

and Northamptonshire Chamber has seen fruitful dividends over the past year. Our members are at the heart of all we do, so I’m delighted to

report 1,334 individual business were members of Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire Chamber during the last financial year. A massive 85% of those - 1,143 individual businesses – came to

our events or training sessions during the year, and 97% of our members attended an event or training session or used our HR and legal, tax and health and safety protection services, delivered by Quest. These figures are testament to the work that goes on behind the scenes at the Chamber.

Thank you to staff, directors and stakeholders for your hard work, belief and dedication. In this edition you can relive the highlights from our Next Generation Business Awards.

We’ve produced a special feature on the awards featuring reaction from the winners and brilliant photographs by Jane Russell Photography. Speaking of Next Generation Chamber, I’m delighted to reveal it’ll be adding to its events

schedule with more continual personal development sessions in Milton Keynes and talks from key speakers at social occasions. Finally, I’m pleased to say we’ve also added a new event to Milton Keynes Chamber’s

extensive networking calendar. This October we’ll join forces with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and our sister Chamber in Northamptonshire to host an additional Meet the Neighbours event. This has been organised in response to demand from our members and will give businesses the chance to forge relationships across more county boundaries. This event booked up quickly but rest assured we have more in the pipeline!
